First teaser trailer for The Lego Movie!

Early this morning, the first trailer for the hotly anticipated Lego movie surfaced and after only watching on repeat for 5 times, I must say that I’m pretty impressed! Without further ado, here’s the trailer!

Featuring a pretty star-studded cast that boasts the likes of Will Ferell, Liam Neeson, the sublime Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt AND Morgan Freeman, Lego has pretty much thrown its full weight behind this movie to ensure it achieves massive blockbuster success and advance the Lego brand into homes across the world.

Plot details are pretty sketchy, but the movie follows the life of Emmet, a regular minifig who is tasked to save the universe with the help of an old mystic (Morgan Freeman), a female friend (the chick with the neat highlights in the trailer) and everyone’s favourite orphaned superhero, Batman himself.

I was a huge fan of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, so I’m quite relieved that this movie is in good hands. The trailer looks very promising and fun, boasting some pretty slick CGI animation to bring that special charm the Lego toys have to the big screen.

The Lego Movie is scheduled to hit theatres in the US on 7 February 2014. The UK will get the movie on Valentines Day, 14 February 2014. Us Australians will have to make do with the very very late 3 April 2014 to catch it in cinemas.
