Back from holiday!

Hey folks, sorry for not posting in the last 2 weeks. Recently got back from a short-ish holiday in Malaysia! I had a fantastic time being on vacation and getting away from it all and I’ve got a slew of post ideas lined up.

Here are a couple of highlights of my trip which should give you guys an indication of some of the upcoming posts I’ve got planned.

LEGO Store Bangsar Village 2

Finally got to visit the very first Official-looking LEGO store in Malaysia to see first-hand what the fuss is all about. I’m also in contact with LEGO Singapore to find out more details about the store and LEGO’s plans for the South East Asian region which I hope to get soon.

Lego Marina Bay Sands

Also managed to pick up the incredibly rare LEGO Architecture Marina Bay Sands set. This limited edition set is greatly coveted especially by LEGO fans in the West as it is only available for purchase in Asia. This is my first Architecture set and I’ll be writing up a review soon.

Lego Simpsons House

Speaking about reviews, me and my wife completed The Simpsons Family House right before we left on holiday and it’s currently casually hanging around our living room. Expect a review once I figure out how to properly photograph this gigantic set.

I also brought back about 10 kilograms of LEGO from Malaysia which is dope because I’ve nearly transported my entire collection to Australia. Only about 30% of my LEGO now remains in Malaysia. I’m starting to worry that I’m running out of space for storage!

Fake Lego Minifigures

I figured my blog needed a bit of controversy. Managed to pick up a whole bunch of fake China-made knockoff minifigures for a few dollars. Mostly because I’m curious about the actual quality and am planning a post comparing the fake minifigs with their original counterparts. These imitation minifigures are all over Malaysia and in my honest opinion, present quite a bit of risk to LEGO’s ambitious expansion plans in Asia.

The LEGO Movie Poster

Last but not least, I also caught the LEGO movie TWICE when I was back in Malaysia, which I can now happily review in time for the Australian premiere in early April. It was nothing short of AWESOME and I wish I had seen it more than twice!

That’s a brief brief summary of what I’ve been up to, and I’m incredibly happy to say that I love being back home in Melbourne! Now… to sort all the LEGO I acquired during my holiday..
