UPDATE: Be sure to check out my LEGO Minifigures Series 13 review!

UPDATE (1/6/2014) : LEGO Series 13 is now on sale in Australia! Happy hunting!

LEGO Minifigures Series 13 Characters

Christmas has come early! LEGO’s Facebook page has revealed the lineup from the upcoming LEGO Minifigures Series 13. The release date for Series 13 will be January 2015 and from early impressions, it looks like this will be another fantastic series for minifigure collectors.

It only seemed like yesterday that Series 12 was released!

Here’s the full list of characters and their official names:

  • Galaxy Trooper
  • Alien Trooper
  • Evil Wizard
  • Classic King
  • Goblin
  • Lady Cyclops
  • Snake Charmer
  • Paleontologist
  • Carpenter
  • Hot Dog Guy
  • Sheriff
  • Samurai
  • Disco Diva
  • Unicorn Girl
  • Fencer
  • Egyptian Warrior

LEGO Series 13 Character Names

I also made this handy poster with all the Series 13 character names.

From early impressions, I can confidently say that I am absolutely loving the Classic King, Egyptian Warrior, Carpenter, Unicorn Girl, Alien Trooper, Snake Charmer and Fencer. The Fencer, Carpenter and Classic King particularly surprised me, as I initially thought they were pretty boring characters, when their names were first leaked – after seeing them, I have to say that I am quite impressed by them.

It looks like LEGO has another churned out another winner, which is impressive since this is the 13th numbered series and 16th overall, if you count The Simpsons, Olympics Team GB and The LEGO Movie.

Click on each of the thumbnails to check out a larger version and ogle at some of the great details!

Hope you’re as excited as I am about Series 13! Now that official images are out, let me know in the comments which ones are you most looking forward to.

Hey Jay. Just wanted to let you know toy world at Forrest Hill has stock so I’m sure other toy worlds should too! Got the evil wizard, carpenter, space guy and hot dog man!

    • Jay says:

I heard too, thanks for the heads up! I’ve got a set waiting for me at Rick James Bricks.

I’ll be writing an update post to this after i get off work!

  2. Mike says:

Series 13 available in Toys R Us Gloucester today along with Series 12. Whatever happened to the Movie series? They soon disappeared.

    • Jay says:

Oh lucky you! It’s still not out here in Australia yet.

The Movie series sold out pretty quickly – probably due to how popular the movie was with fans both new and old!

    Hey Jay,

I wen’t looking for these today but couldn’t find them any were. I suspect I am just to early however I noticed lego store AU has them available…

Do you have any showing up in your stores?

    • Jay says:

Hey Waz, it’s only available online for now. They just went on sale on LEGO.com yesterday if I recall correctly.

I don’t think any of the 2015 LEGO sets have arrived in stores yet. You’ll probably have to wait another week or so (fingers crossed) before Series 13 starts showing up in the wild. If it was anything like the rollout of series 12, keep an eye out in the toy section of Coles and Woolworths – they might show up there first.

Watch this space! I’ll be sure to post an update when Series 13 officially arrives in the country!

  4. Fiona says:

Wow, I love them all but especially unicorn girl, king and snake charmer. Cool that there are moustaches – they must be placing a small hole in some mini figure heads. Ow.

    • Jay says:

It’s actually a “neck” part that makes it look like the moustache is suspended. I don’t have a great picture right now as I’m at work but you can see the moustache part here http://imgur.com/ZFF3q3q It’s the black part right under the pistol. It’s actually very clever!

  5. Lisa says:

Wow! Lego Series 13 looks amazing!

I really love Hot Dog Guy and Unicorn Girl. Will these be out in Australia in January?

    • Jay says:

We’re usually not too far behind the US and Europe when it comes to Minifigures release dates – so it’s a safe bet to say they’ll be here, probably in mid-January

  6. Jaclyn Ngan says:

I was also surprised that Series 13 was revealed this early! do they usually release the next series this fast though? anyways, I always go for the minifigures which would fit in a LEGO City setting, so I’m definitely going to get the Carpenter.

    • Jay says:

Yeah! Time flies doesn’t it! Series 12 came out in October and new ones are released about every quarter.

The carpenter is great! Love how simple his look is, while being very distinctive at the same time.

      • Jaclyn Ngan says:

I know right! I really love his laid-back facial expression and even love the fact that they’ve used a re-coloured Hard Hat Emmet’s head gear. oh and I assume that his saw is a new mold. it looks sweet.

  7. Nick says:

    Jay,
Where do I start with this series? I’ll have to have another look at series 12 (seemed to have almost passed me by!) before I commit to any of this series, but I have to say that I’m particularly enamoured by the snake charmer and the sheriff. The look of the sheriff is probably about as close as one will get to a Lego incarnation of one Rick Grimes. My sets have been purchases based on a number of factors, but I’ve been keeping an eye out for sets with elements I could use to create a Walking Dead diorama. IMHO, some of the orc heads from the hobbit and LOTR sets could be used as zombies, too!

I appreciate this post, as I really wasn’t aware of the next series being released so soon.

    All the best,
    Nick

    • Jay says:

Cool! Yeah, the sherrif looked surprisingly good! I really like his hat and moustache.

If you’re after zombies, you should try checking out Bricklink, but just buy the heads as they are much cheaper! You can then attach them to regular minifig bodies and torsos for a relatively affordable zombie horde!
