Get them quick! No, seriously!
UPDATE 2: The Town Hall and Grand Emporium is now sold out. Hope you managed to get one
UPDATE 26/11: Myer has kicked off a new toy catalogue that runs till 24 December featuring discounts for the LEGO Modular sets that Myer is carrying – namely the Grand Emporium, Town Hall, Place Cinema and Parisian Restaurant.
Each LEGO modular building is discounted by about 10% but if you use the discount code TOYS10 online, you’ll receive another 10% off! If you spend more than $100 online you get free shipping.
You can also use the voucher in store with your Myer One card. Here’s the link for the additional 10% off toys voucher. The offer runs from 27 – 30 November.
A tip if you’re having trouble buying online or if sets aren’t available at your local Myer is to get the staff to help purchase it online using the iPads in store. That way, they can get stock from Myer locations across Australia and get it delivered to your home, at no extra cost.
Here are the links to the Modular buildings on Myer’s website, to make it easier for you to find them. The price in red is the final price if you use the additional 10% off voucher.
LEGO 10224 Creator Town Hall – $269 / $242.10 (RRP $299)- LEGO 10243 Creator Parisian Restaurant – $229 / $206.10 (RRP $250) <exclusive to Myer>
LEGO 10211 Creator Grand Emporium – $219 / $197.10 (RRP $249) <only available from Myer for now>- LEGO 10232 Creator Palace Cinema – $179 / $161.10 (RRP $199)
Again, I really urge you to get them quickly before they sell out. Myer only gets these sets in limited quantities and Modular buildings are especially popular among the AFOL/scalper crowd.
Thanks to Dave for the tip! Good luck!
LEGO’s Creator Expert series or better known as Modular buildings are now on sale here in Australia, just in time for the Christmas 2014 shopping rush.
These sets sell out extremely fast, so I urge you to buy them quickly before the scalpers get to them first.
I was at David Jones Melbourne today and spotted a whole ton of Palace Cinemas, one or two Pet Shops, but unfortunately no Town Halls. David Jones doesn’t have any LEGO sales right now, so it would be wise to wait a little longer.
Here are the links if you want to pick them up online:
- LEGO 10218 Creator Pet Shop – $269.99
- LEGO 10232 Creator Palace Cinema – $199.99
Myer had a lot more stock of LEGO modular buildings PLUS a limited time offer where you’ll get 50% off your second toy. Took this picture tonight at Myer Fountain Gate so it’s quite safe to assume that most Myers around the country should already have the modulars on the shelves. I grabbed both Parisian Restaurants above, which worked out to each of them costing $187.50!
Note that one of the Town Hall’s boxes is pretty bashed up. I asked a salesperson and she said that you could probably get 10% off because the box is damaged.
The 50% off your second toy offer lasts till Sunday, 23 November so if you’re looking to get some modular buildings, you could potentially be saving up to 25% on them – a fantastic deal, so act quickly before the scalpers get there. The sale doesn’t work online so you’ll have to get them in store.
You can also buy the modular buildings from Myer’s online store:
- LEGO 10224 Creator Town Hall – $299
- LEGO 10243 Creator Parisian Restaurant – $249
- LEGO 10211 Creator Grand Emporium – $249
- LEGO 10232 Creator Palace Cinema – $199
If you’re new to LEGO Modular sets, I recommend picking up the Grand Emporium and Town Hall, since this will probably be your last opportunity to get your hands on them from an Australian retail store. The Grand Emporium has long been sold out on LEGO.com and the Town Hall is also at the end of its life.
If you don’t believe me, check out what the prices that the Grand Emporium and Town Hall are fetching on eBay. If you’re looking to pick up some modular LEGO sets for Christmas, act quickly before the scalpers get there.
Even at full price, the Grand Emporium and Town Hall still work out to be great deals, cause you can’t get them from other sources and resellers are already jacking up the prices now that they’ve been all but retired.
Good luck and happy shopping!
