Good news if you like LEGO themed surprises and live in Australia. A new monthly LEGO loot box subscription service called BrickPak will be launching soon to LEGO fans Down Under.
What’s a LEGO loot box? Good question – a LEGO loot box is a mystery box which contains a bunch of LEGO and LEGO-related items. The way BrickPak works is that you sign up to it like you would a magazine subscription, and every month, you’ll receive a mystery box containing at least 6 LEGO-themed items. The folks at BrickPak promise at least $50 worth of value in each month’s loot box.
Because it’s a mystery and all, I’m not at a liberty to reveal what’s in it but I can give you a clue into what to expect. You may get LEGO sets, minifigures, part packs, apparel, toys, stickers, stationery and other brick and LEGO-themed items. There’s also going to be at least one LEGO-themed piece of apparel (t-shirts, bags, caps, etc) in each month’s box.
There are 3 subscription models:
- 1-month subscription – $29.95 per month
- 3-month subscription – $27.95 per month
- 6-month subscription – $25.95 per month
Because this is new, you may want to test the waters and try out a 1 month subscription if you’re afraid of committing to something for 3 months or more.
I think the idea is pretty cool and this is probably something I would subscribe to since it’s pretty affordable. Though if you’re a LEGO purist, some of the extras like apparel and stickers might not appeal to you. I certainly admire the guys at BrickPak for being proactive and introducing something like this to the Australian market.
The first BrickPak is set to go out in March and is limited to the first 100 to sign up. There are only 20 BrickPaks or so remaining so if this is something that might interest you, you might want to get in while you can. Being the first month, I’m sure the folks over at BrickPak will be extra eager to entice people to stay on by releasing a solid debut loot box.
Watch this space, I hope to get a BrickPak for a full review.

What do you think? Do you see yourself signing up to a service like this?

We just received a BrickPak for our 6yr old. He loved the surprises. A nifty idea and one that I think would work well as gift ideas.
