New LEGO City, Ninjago, Star Wars and Minecraft sets available at Kmart Australia

August 2015 City Deep Sea Space Sets Kmart Australia

After work today, I spontaneously decided to check out a nearby Kmart (Rowville) to see if there were specials or clearance deals and I stumbled upon the shelves stocked with the new wave of City, Ninjago, Minecraft and Star Wars sets!

What a treat and surprise! As per the 2nd half of 2015 retail catalogue, the new wave of sets were due in August 2015, so it’s a very encouraging sign that we didn’t have to wait till the end of the month to finally get our hands on new LEGO sets.

There weren’t any pricetags on the shelves, so I had to selectively scan a few sets of interest and I’m pleased to report surprising discounts on some of the sets. Kmart Australia prices their sets slightly below RRP, so I’ve put together a list of some of the big ticket items that I saw this evening.

City Deep Sea theme

  • 60095 Deep Sea Exploration Vessel – $125 (RRP $150)
  • 60092 Deep Sea Submarine – $35 (RRP $40)

City Space theme

  • 60080 Spaceport – $115 (RRP $130)

City

  • 60097 City Square – $200 (RRP $250)

Some really cool and shocking bargains here. The City Square is the standout deal as it is at a very respectable 20% off. The Deep Sea Exploration Vessel is another honorable mention, at approximately 16% off the RRP.

August 2015 Star Wars Sets Kmart Australia

Star Wars fans will be delighted to see the new Star Wars sets on sale. I only managed to check the price of two sets as I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan around.

Star Wars August 2015 sets

  • 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium – $139 (RRP $140)
  • 75093 Death Star Final Duel – $129 (RRP $130)

Just pass on the Star Wars sets from Kmart and probably wait for a 20% off sale from other retailers.

August 2015 Ninjago Sets Kmart Australia

The new spooky Ghost-themed Ninjago sets are also on sale as well, including the new Airjitsu air flyer sets. I also spotted some of the newer Minecraft sets but forgot to take any photos.

LEGO Ninjago August 2015 sets

  • 70736 Attack of the Morro Dragon – $95 (RRP $110)
  • 70737 Titan Mech Battle – $75 (RRP $90)
  • Ninjago Air Flyers – $15 (RRP $16)

LEGO Minecraft August 2015 sets

  • 21122 The Nether Fortress – $125 (RRP $130)
  • 21120 The Snow Hideout – $55 (RRP $60)

Overall, some really good value with the Ninjago sets, with those two sets I listed coming in at about 15% off RRP.

I picked up one of the mid-sized LEGO Deep Sea sets, so look out for a review once I’ve wrested some free time away from work and my other commitments! Now that these sets are in Kmart, it shouldn’t be long till they start showing up in other stores. Curiously, there were no new Elves or Friends sets.

Are you going to pick up any of the new City, Ninjago, Minecraft or Star Wars sets? Let me know in the comments which ones you’re looking forward to the most!
