Apologies if this is a super shabby post! I’m actually away on a mini getaway and have no access to a computer so I’m posting from a phone!
I just wanted to share some important details with you about the Brickober 2015 sets so you get in while you can!
The new Brickober 2015 sets were revealed some time ago, featuring a sequel to last year’s range of mini modulars.
The new Toys R Us catalogue has gone up with details on the Australian promotion. Good news is that we’re getting the sets. Bad news is that according to the catalogue, you’ll need to spend $100 on LEGO to get them.
This year, Toys R Us Australia is splitting up each mini modular so that you can only get it within a specified time window. A bit of a pain… But!
The first two sets have gone up online just like last year! You can purchase them individually and it seems that there are no purchase limits at the moment.
Even if there’s no purchase limits, I urge you to not go crazy and just get what you need and leave some for your fellow LEGO fans 🙂
I really recommend that you buy them immediately before they get taken down or sold out.
Here are the individual links:

Gtg now. Good luck!

Turns out this was a “hoax” which I think TRU was using to gauge the level of popularity these Bricktobers are. A kind friend helped to order for me, only to get the same cancellation email.
My local TRU has NONE Bricktober sets available when I made a qualifying purchase today. I guess this weekend’s 20% discount played a factor as well. (20% discount with free Bricktober set).
Happy with your sales performance this weekend TRU?:P
Jay says
Ah yeah, I noticed that the Bricktober sets sold out online. This whole fiasco is quite unsavoury and I’ll be writing about it soon.
You’re definitely right, the 20% must’ve caused everyone to jump at the sets which is why the Bakery got sold out so quickly. It’s quite interesting that your local didn’t have any. I was in Doncaster VIC on the weekend and they ran out of Bakeries so they gave me the Toys R US store instead.

I got an email saying that they wouldn’t be fulfilling my order. Boo!
Jay says
Same here 🙁
Michael says
Did you get an email offer to get one with any Lego purchase?
nick says
Both links currently dead now. I’m not holding my breath.
TBH… They didn’t look that appealing. I’d put the money towards something else.
Jay says
Well TRU has been following the exact script from last year – the links got pulled not long after as well.
They’re quite cool as unique display pieces and since I have last year’s set… I couldn’t resist, heh. I really want the mini Toys R Us Store, it would look quite good next to my minifig-sized one!

LEGO DIMENSIONS IS HERE!
I got the Portal 2 set, NOT the starter pack… yet.
Unfortunately, there’s a few things wrong with it.
1. Chell’s portal gun is RUBBER. NOT ABS PLASTIC. AFOLs, release your rage please.
2. The instructions are ONLY for Chell, you actually need the game to build the Sentry Turret and Companion Cube, AND their alternate 2 modes! FREAKING OUTRAGEOUS! If ANYONE sees instructions based on gameplay, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know!
I used to think Dimensions would be awesome.
The starter pack is a reasonable price, being $109 CAN, but if you get a set WITHOUT the starter pack, it’s LEGO’s way of saying, “Nope, get the starter pack, send us money, money, money! Whee!”
I STILL think it is, but for some, it’s a cash grab.
God dangit.
Jay says
Oh nice! I’ll probably only get to go pick it up at lunch time.
1. Hmmm, I’ll wait to feel the Portal Gun in my own hands before I get outraged. Just hope that it isn’t TOO bad.
2. According to their Twitter, the instructions will be available online soon – https://twitter.com/LEGODimensions/status/648244246189731840 https://twitter.com/LEGODimensions/status/648222763845455872 so all is not lost. It does seem extremely foolish not to include instructions in the box though..
starwarsfolder12 says
Well, it’s rubber. So, it’s not THAT bad.
Also, I found a video with a timelapse showing me the instructions I needed for the Turret! 😀
All is well now.
(For now. Mwahaha.)
Jay says
Instructions are out here! https://wwwsecure.us.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions/search?initialsearch=71203#?text=71203
Michael says
Just checked – that’s just the little booklet you get with the kit – only has Chell instructions.
Jay says
Hmmm I was able to download the instructions for the companion cube and turrets. If you click show more, it expands and there are 6 instructions at the bottom. Can you find it?
Michael says
Yeah, sorry. Silly me! 🙂

Time to plan for a trip to Australia!
Jay says
That’s an expensive holiday for a couple of mini LEGO sets haha!
scott says
$13 shipping to west aus. Wow. I cant even. Wanted it for my helicarrier, but I think I might have to bricklink it. Not paying the double cause of shipping
Jay says
Eh, still think it’s better than spending $100 to get one! My shipping was only $10, but that’s cause I’m in VIC
Michael says
For me, both sets are visible but only Hotel can be added to cart. YMMV.
Enjoy your getaway mate!
Jay says
Thanks! Weather was brilliant, which is just short of miraculous for Melbourne! I heard the sets keep appearing on and off. I’m chalking it up to TRU’s less than ideal online site
starwarsfolder12 says
Seems legit.
Come ON, Canada, GET SOME PROMOS HERE ALREADY, JEEZ!
Jay says
Haha you guys get pretty decent support! Least there are LEGO stores!
starwarsfolder12 says
Not where I am, not a single LEGO Store. There is TRU, Walmart and that’s kinda it.
Jay says
Well in the same country. We Aussies have to hop on a plane to get to one!
