LEGO Adventure Time and Caterham Super Seven are your next LEGO Ideas Sets

LEGO Ideas Second 2015 Review Results

What time is it? LEGO Ideas Results time!

Earlier today, LEGO Ideas announced the results of the Second 2015 (May – September) Review Results and lo and behold, not one but TWO Ideas projects will be turned into Ideas sets.

Carl Greatix’s successful Caterham Super Seven Ideas project is a gorgeous take on the Classic British Sports car and should be incredibly well received by motorsports fans. The car looks amazing and should look great next to the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van or the recent Mini Cooper.

Based on the photos from his Ideas Project, there seems to be a great deal of details, especially in the engine and interiors.

I’m quite excited for this project and can see this being a really popular set. Also love that it’s not based on a licensed pop culture property (well, it sorta is, but not really) and I’m looking forward to seeing what the end version will look like.

Finally! LEGO Adventure Time will finally be a thing thanks to aBetterMonkey’s successful project which features buildable characters from the popular Cartoon Network show. I’m pleasantly surprised that Cartoon Network finally caved with the license, after the previous minifigure-scale project failed to pass the review by LEGO after achieving 10,000 supporters.

Personally, I’m most excited about LEGO Adventure Time since I’m a big fan of the cartoon. I did believe that Adventure Time sets were a bit of an inevitably, since LEGO does have a great relationship with Cartoon Network with Mixels and all, but I can’t quite help but feel that this set is a little too late since Adventure Time’s peak popularity was a few years ago. I used to religiously watch the show, but that was like… 3 or 4 years ago and I haven’t kept up since.

Nevertheless, the World of Ooo should translate quite well to LEGO with the cartoon’s bright colour palette and I for one, can’t wait to own my very own brick-built BMO. I also think that depending on how well this Ideas set performs in the market, this could very well open up possibilities for minifigure-scale sets, or an entire theme, like what LEGO did with Minecraft.

As a side note, these images above are from the Ideas submission, so the end product could and will possibly be wildly different after LEGO’s designers weigh in.

Watch the announcement video here, to find out more about the successful projects and the next review results, which should happen sometime later in Spring (Northern Hemisphere).

What do you think of the Ideas Results? Let me know in the comments about whether you’re more excited about the Caterham Super Seven or LEGO Adventure time or if you couldn’t care less.
