USA Today have given us a sneak peek at the upcoming LEGO Movie spinoff, The LEGO Batman Movie, starring Will Arnett as the brick-built Caped Crusader. The LEGO Batman Movie is slated for a 10 February 2017 release date and the trailer is set to debut on Wednesday (probably Thursday in Australia).
The LEGO Batman Movie will be directed by Chris McKay, who also worked on The LEGO Movie as animation co-director.
Joining Will Arnett in the animated movie will be Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes), Dick Grayson aka Robin (voiced by Michael Cera), Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl (voiced by Rosario Dawson) and also The Joker (voiced by Zach Galifianakis).
The cast-list definitely looks great and I’m looking forward to Ralph Fiennes’ take on Alfred, as well as the hilarity that will ensue with Michael Cera as Robin.
One thing we can definitely look forward to is more LEGO sets based on the movie which I’m very excited about.
The LEGO Batman Movie will kick off a whole slew of LEGO animated films, with the LEGO Ninjago Movie due to be released on 23 September 2017 and The LEGO Movie 2 which is scheduled for an 18 May 2018 release.
Exciting times for LEGO fans! I for one, cannot wait for The LEGO Batman Movie. I’ll leave you with one of my favourite parts of The LEGO Movie – Batman’s song. DARKNESS. NO PARENTS.

I absolutely LOVE that Killer Croc has the classic crocodile head on. I really want a LEGO version of it!

I can’t wait for the trailer… whenever I play around with a Batman minifigure, the only personality I can possibly make him have is the Lego Movie version…
spudbud01 says
Hey Brain! 😀 Fancy seeing you here?
BrianG2402 says
Hello spud! Saw you here yesterday, too. Like the belt piece? See the trailer?
spudbud01 says
Yes I love the belt piece! No I haven’t seen the trailer. Are you on Facebook or Google+ or Gmail or anything like that? Maybe we could connect that way. 😀

It’s here and I saw it and I loved it. From the studio of batman, batman returns, batman forever, batman and robin, batman begins, the dark knight, the dark knight rises, batman v superman… aaaaand the Lego movie comes… this thing. This beautiful thing.
Jay says
This’ll be the best Batman ever.

I’m just sitting here refreshing Twitter constantly waiting for the trailer to drop.

“Super rich…kinda makes it better” lmao
Jay says
Never gets old, haha.

I adored the original Lego movie 🙂 Batman was such character in that one; I’m excited he gets a movie of his own. Can’t wait for the trailer! Yippee for three upcoming Lego movies!!!!!!!
Jay says
The original is one of my favourite movies of all time! I really hope they parody or satirize AFOLs in the coming ones. President Business was a good start but… I wanna see what their take it on people like LEGO investors or those that just keep boxed up sets!
BrianG2402 says
Well, it adds to the playabliity, enemies could steal the belt and stuff like that!
Jay says
Saw it in action in the trailer. I really hope they make it into a real accessory!
BrianG2402 says
They will, I’m sure. Also lobsters.
Steve says
Super Sweet.
spudbud01 says
Btw, did anyone notice that Batman’s belt was a separate LEGO piece? I wonder if we will get this in the sets…
Jay says
Yeah I did notice that too! Looks kinda chunky…but I want it.
spudbud01 says
Yeah, it would be really helpful for stopmotions!
spudbud01 says
CANNOT WAIT!!!
Matt Merrill says
This is exciting news, my boy and I saw the Lego Movie just recently the first time and really loved it, I’m even more excited also for Lego Movie 2!
Jay says
Yeah! I rewatch The LEGO Movie every now and then and it never gets old. Will Arnett is fantastic as well – I love him in Parks and Recreation so I’m pretty confident that he’ll carry the movie well!
Duncan says
Sweet! I hope to see this LEGO movie.
I foresee a ton of LEGO movie related LEGO sets.
Jay says
Yup! Can’t wait to get some crazy Batman sets that aren’t tied to the Warner Bros movies. Hope the designers have a lot of fun.
