Game & Pack Information:

All expansion packs provide players with continued compatibility to use everything from waves 1-9 interchangeably, anywhere throughout the game. And no new starter pack is required, as all new packs will simply enhance the LEGO® Dimensions™ Starter Pack game and work with the existing LEGO® Toy Pad.

All-new Battle Arenas will offer first-to-LEGO® videogames competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players. LEGO® minifigures included in the wave 6 through 9 expansion packs will come with special, golden Toy Tags (the NFC bases) which unlock a Battle Arena within the Free Play Adventure World of the corresponding entertainment brand. Each Battle Arena has four different gameplay modes and comes with its own traps, special powers and interactive environments that make every battle arena unique.

The Ghostbusters Story Pack, based on the upcoming film, will provide a complete movie-based gameplay experience with six puzzle-packed levels and new LEGO® Gateway bricks that allow players to build Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant atop the LEGO® Toy Pad.

LEGO Dimensions Phase 2 - Female Ghostbusters

It will also come with a buildable Abby Yates LEGO® minifigure with Proton Blaster and 3-in-1 buildable Ecto-1 which can be rebuilt into the Ectozer and The PerfEcto. The pack unlocks “Rip,” a new Toy Pad mode allowing players to tear open an alternate universe. In this mirror world, players have the ability to solve puzzles and affect objects and other items in the primary universe. And like all gold-tag minifigures purchased, Abby Yates provides access to a new themed Adventure World with its own unique Battle Arena.

The Ghostbusters Story Pack is just the first of this new exciting pack type, with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on the highly anticipated theatrical release, still to come later this year. The LEGO®DIMENSIONS™ packs will be the exclusive construction toy offering this holiday for the exciting expansion of J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Personally, I am incredibly excited about LEGO Dimensions Phase 2. I love that LEGO have invested a lot more into a ton of 80s pop culture icons such as Mr T from The A-Team, Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible, Gremlins, Goonies and even ET.

Most of all, I’m definitely excited about the Adventure Time Team and Level Packs. Being able to own minifigure versions of Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, BMO AND Lumpy Space Princess (oh my glob) is a dream come true for me as I was a huge fan of the cartoons.

Sonic the Hedgehog is also an exciting prospect, given his importance to video game history. It’ll definitely be an insanely fun and iconic LEGO minifigure to own.

I have to say. LEGO and TT Games have really upped their game with LEGO Dimensions Phase 2. It looks like they’re firmly using this product line to appeal to pop culture enthusiasts, and with such a wide swath of characters from Cartoon Network’s finest all the way to 80s television staples, there seems to be something for everyone.

Not shown in the E3 teaser video but mentioned in the press release are the Powerpuff Girls, Beetlejuice and Knight Rider which will probably be saved for a bigger reveal. The Powerpuff Girls is right up my alley and will most likely be a Day 1 purchase for me. I can’t wait to see what the minifigs look like.

In my reviews of LEGO Dimensions packs, I often complain about the price but I know I’ll be suckered in to buying most of these when they come out. Adventure Time is definitely a Day 1 purchase for me and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Stay tuned for more solid release dates, which I believe we’ll get closer to E3.

So there you have it, an amazing tease into LEGO Dimensions Phase 2. Let me know your thoughts in the comments and which ones you’re excited for the most!

Wow! So many minfigs! I love the Finn from Adventure Time (don’t watch anymore)! I feel like his hat piece is a bit too chunky and big, though. I barely know any of these characters, to be honest.

    Thanks for the sneak-peek!

  2. spudbud01 says:

Adventure time, Teen Titans, wow, it seems like LEGO has no trouble buying the rights for Cartoon Network, which means that LEGO Ben 10 could be a thing:

  3. Jaclyn Ngan says:

LEGO City Undercover is a Wii U exclusive (unfortunately…) LEGO game based on the LEGO City toy sets. it’s basically what the fans call a LEGO version of GTA. anyway while the packs that are currently available and also recently announced are cool, I’m glad I didn’t invest my money into buying the game because the packs aren’t cheap at all over here. that said… HARRY POTTER!!! they finally gave Harry the right hairpiece this time. THE POWERPUFF GIRLS!!! I wonder if it’s based on the old 90’s series or the recent reboot that everyone’s been hating on.

    • Jay says:

Oh cool! Thanks for the info. Unless it’s a Nintendo IP or Dota, I’m pretty behind on my video game news.

Have you tried ordering via Amazon? Do they ship to Malaysia? If they do, you can get the packs for relatively cheap!

  4. jhillsy says:

But will this wave make you want to actually play the game, Jay. 😛

  5. Duncan says:

    Wow!!!!
    Et!!!
    Teen Titans!
    Knight Rider!
    An OMG, it’s HARRY POTTER

I am going to be so broke by the end of this year, sigh.?

  6. Matt Merrill says:

Nice…I was a teen in the eighties, so a lot of these sets are a homerun for me. I just collect them for the minifigs, but I can see myself grabbing a few of these, they tend to go on clearance really quickly out here…

    • Jay says:

Same here! Some of the LEGO dimensions sets recently went on clearance here in Australia, so I picked out the ones I was missing. Really, really cool and they’d make great collectibles as well, just going back on how well received 80s nostalgia merchandise are by those of us who grew up in the 80s.

  7. Michael says:

As my wife said, this is obviously aimed at us babies of the 80s – I personally am so pumped for Mr T! Can’t wait to get my son Pitying the Fool.

As a big time Lego Dimensions fan, the new list of IPs are really exciting. The Story Packs look good too, especially with the Portal redesigns. A little worried about price, but we’ll see 🙂 I’m just a little bummed that we’re not getting another big adventure like in the first game.

An interesting note from one of the press releases – looks like there will not be any ‘normal’ Fantastic Beasts Lego this year. Bummer!

Also, they announced the Lego Ideas winners – Saturn V and The Beatles Yellow Submarine! Personally, cannot wait for the Beatles.

    • Jay says:

Yup! It’s really awesome seeing LEGO fully embrace 80s pop culture. I guess sets/packs like Back to the Future really showed them that there is a ton of demand for more 80s nostalgia hits.

There’ll be a Fantastic Beasts Story pack in the works too, so that’s going to be plenty of fun. I don’t play the game, but it’s a refreshing way to introduce new content to the mix.

I did pick that up as well, but I’m guessing we’ll get a whole new theme next year. If there were any sets planned for this year, they would’ve been shown off in toy fairs/leaked. The wording was very specific to mention that Fantastic Beasts construction toys were only exclusive to LEGO Dimensions this year.

  8. Warmongurl says:

I’m so excited for the Harry Potter packs!!! And I can’t wait to see a glimpse of Gremlins, Gizmo must be adorable!!! I see myself purchasing several of these packs.

    • Jay says:

Yeah, Harry Potter is an awesome fit for Dimensions. I really hope we see a full blown Fantastic Beasts theme. It’s about time for a return into the universe!

  9. Mark says:

As a kid who grew up in the 80’s I can’t begin to describe how awesome this is! The Hoff, Mr. T and E frickin T in minifigure form, wow! I won’t even have trouble justifying this wave to my significant other; Gizmo and The Goonies…nuff said.

    • Jay says:

Yup, it’s pretty brilliant! I never knew how much I wanted a Hasselhoff minifig till now.

It’s a really clever move from LEGO, capitalising in on all this nostalgia.

  10. starwarsfolder12 (Mobile) says:

    bye bye money 🙂

    But seriously…
I MUST GET ALL OF THEM NOW WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER I DONT WANT TO WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME LEGO WHY WHY WHYYYY
