And the winner is….

Wow, I was absolutely floored by the huge response to the giveaway! I definitely did not expect to receive over half a thousand entries. Thank you to everyone who entered!

Unfortunately, there were a small selection of entries that were invalid because they came from countries without official access to online LEGO stores. I’ll try and include everyone else in the next giveaway!

So… without further ado. Please congratulate…

Sally Debenham from Australia! You’ve been drawn randomly from the pool of responses and you’ve won yourself a $200 LEGO.com shopping spree on me!

I’ll be in touch via email some time this week with more details on how I can get your prize to you. In the meantime, please feel free to browse through LEGO.com and think of what you’d like to get 🙂

Sally’s most anticipated set of 2017 is the Pizza Truck (an excellent choice!) and her favourite theme is Star Wars.

I also crunched the data from the giveaway form, because I was really interested in finding out what 2017 sets everyone was most looking forward to and what your favourite themes are.

No surprises in the most anticipated category with the Assembly Square taking the top spot as the most desired set in 2017. I was quite surprised to see the LEGO Batman Movie Batcave Break-In set take second place, ahead of the new unannounced Star Wars UCS set (which many believe to be either a UCS Snowspeeder or UCS Millennium Falcon reissue).

LEGO Batman Movie sets had a really strong showing, with Arkham Asylum and the Joker Notorious Lowrider, placing quite highly. Also great to see a lot of love for Brickheadz and the new Milano set.

Favourite theme was also very illuminating. I didn’t know I had so many Star Wars fans on the blog! Star Wars, with almost 20% of the responses dwarfed the second most popular theme, Creator and also trounced Super Heroes (DC and Marvel combined!) to take top spot.

I really need to review more Star Wars sets in light of this 😉

Hope you liked the data! If you enjoy seeing stuff like this and would like to see more surveys and stuff, please let me know in the comments section!

So yeah, thank you to everyone who joined! I have more giveaways planned throughout the year, so look out for the next one! All the giveaways are possible thanks to your help and support!

Congratulations to the winner. Your survey is very interesting; as is all the content on your website. I would have loved to enter this awesome competition, however my country is not eligible for deliveries from Lego.com. Is there any way to convince Lego.com to deliver to a new country? How do they decide? Shall I start a petition!? Anyway, just dreaming big. Keep up the fantastic work. Absolutely love your blog.

There’ll be future giveaways! It’s just with this one, it’s a lot easier to coordinate with access to a LEGO.com, since there isn’t a set prize that I can psot out.

With LEGO.com… your best bet is to just write to LEGO. Not sure if it will do much as I assume that there are plenty of other factors that determine them servicing your region with an online store – but it doesn’t hurt!

Congrats Sally, hope you get some great sets!

I enjoyed the survey results; it’s fun to see everyone’s favorite theme & anticipated sets. I like data so I’d enjoy seeing more stats in the future.

Even though Star Wars is my favorite theme, I enjoy reading reviews on other themes just as much or more than SW. It’s because I’m going to buy the majority of the Star Wars sets anyway, but may discover a new set I love in another theme. The non SW reviews are more likely to sway me into a purchase.

Yay, thanks for the feedback! I’ll be sure to try and incorporate more polls and surveys like this into future content.

I definitely know how you feel – I too, like to live my LEGO life vicariously through other reviews 🙂

  3. Matt says:

Wow congratulations Sally! Hope you enjoy the LEGO. Great draw Jay, and hope you have a wonderful day!

  4. Janet says:

Congrats Sally!! Great giveaway Jay and can’t wait to see all the new Lego releases this year 🙂

  5. May says:

Congrats Sally and thanks Jay for your blog. Love reading your posts!

  6. Sally says:

Wow what an amazing way to end the weekend! Thank you so much Jay, there is much excitement and will be much debate in our house deciding what to choose, though I reckon that pizza van might be on the list ?

Star Wars is what got me back into Lego, ever since I got a star destroyer back in 2015 for my birthday, it brought two of my greatest loves from my childhood in one awesome box. Lego & Star Wars.
Although my house has started filling up with spaceships.
Ever since I have discovered the creator Expert and I am loving the modular buildings.
I think that a majority of lego fans love Star Wars, judging by how many pages are dedicated to Star Wars products on the lego online store, more than double of any other theme.
And let’s face it Star Wars is just everywhere at the moment, it’s like you almost can’t help being swept up by it.
    Congrats to Sally
    Love your blog jay.
I personally don’t care for too many Star Wars reviews, just like the city sets (police and fire ), it seems they
Just remake the same stuff over and over. I buy them based on how cool I think they look.

    • Jay says:

Funnily enough… Spongebob and the Creator Lighthouse Point (5770) were the ones that got me back. Star Wars was actually one of the final LEGO sets I remember getting as a kid!

Yeah, it’s a really good time to be a Star Wars fan now that they’re under Disney. I’m also getting into the Clone Wars series on Netflix, and that has fueled a desire to collect more prequel-era Jedi and Clones!

      • Andy says:

Clone wars is awesome, it helped me to enjoy and appreciate the prequel movies, and you get a greater understanding of Anakin’s road to the dark side.
After the clone wars you need to watch StarWars Rebels, the second season is insane.
Just wish lego would release an Ashoka Tano minifig in a set I would actually want to buy.

        • Jay says:

Totally! I’m only in Season 2 and am watching it based on the Ultimate Episode Order and I’m loving it so far! And yes, I’m definitely going to catch Rebels as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I’ve been eyeing the Rebels version of Ahsoka myself too, but the set is so pricey and it’s the only one I want!
