I usually don’t do posts like these, but this deal is too good to pass up for my American readers. The LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu is currently on sale on LEGO.com for US$159.99, down from the usual price of US$199.99 – which works out to a discount of about 20%.
D2C sets like the Temple of Airjitzu rarely go on sale, and you’ll also be able to score VIP points with this purchase as well as the Disco Batman/Tears of Batman promotional polybag. There are a couple of other sets on sale as well, but nothing as notable as the Temple.
Unfortunately this deal is US-only, which is always a bit of a bummer for Australia since we don’t really get Sales & Deals outside of that one time Dimensions sale.
If you’re in Australia and feel left out, there’s a bit of a silver lining. The Temple of Airjitzu is slated to arrive in Australian stores as part of a general release in April, so you should be able to get it at a discount when it lands and retailers run one of their usual LEGO sales.
This combination of the US discounting this set online and the set finally making it to Australia smells like LEGO is planning to retire this set soon, and are currently trying to clear out their inventory.
This is just a hunch, but with The LEGO Ninjago Movie set to make a big splash in the second half of the year, I can definitely see LEGO ensuring that the new sets receive the lion’s share of focus without this gorgeous set distracting us.
This is one of those rare times when I wish I lived in the US to take advantage of this great deal.
