It’s June, which means the first day of Summer or Winter if you’re Down Under like me! It also means that we’re officially in the second half of the year and all the new June releases are now available to be purchased from LEGO.com!
For those of you in Australia, the new LEGO sets should also be rolling out into your local toy store/retailer. From what I’ve seen on shelves, it looks that the June releases include the new sets from Cars 3, Creator, Friends, Star Wars, Speed Champions, Spider-Man Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Nexo Knights.
Sadly, it looks like the new City & LEGO Batman Movie sets aren’t due in stores yet which is a HUGE bummer. Oh well, at least everything else seems to be pretty timely. I’m expecting them to show up in July or August at the latest.
Here’s a quick rundown of all the new sets and themes available to be purchased:
The biggest release on 1 June has to be the heavily anticipated 21309 Ideas Nasa Apollo Saturn V! For those of us in Australia, unless you’re lucky enough to be near the Melbourne Legoland Discovery Centre or Dreamworld LEGO Store, your only option is to buy it online or wait till August when it will show up in stores.
Here are the links to buy it online:
- LEGO 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V – US$119.99 [US]
- LEGO 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V – AU$169.99 [AUS]
- LEGO 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V – £109.99 [UK]
And here’s a list of all the new LEGO sets and themes that are available on LEGO.com and individual links to check out each product.

Hello Jay,
Check this link out. The text is in Hungarian, ignore it. They compare the real Saturn from NASA with the Lego set. You can grab the little button to pull it right or left.

Cheers, Levi
Jay says
Oh hey Levi, thanks for sharing that link, it was a really cool read! Love the side by side comparisons!
Chris L says
I plan to build this tomorrow as It arrived on Friday. Can’t wait to start the build ?
Jay says
Saw your completed photos. How good is the build?!
Chris L says
The build was phenomenal. I’m seriously considering breaking it down so as I can re-build it. The techniques the creaters and lego designers used to get the shape and details true to form are amazing. I take my space helmet off to them. Can’t wait to see your photos and review.
Jay says
Same here. It was unlike anything I’ve ever built and it was such a blast.
Bruno says
Urgg… a bit trivial in the shadow what the late year sets don’t you agree.
Jay says
Hmmm, sorry? I don’t quite get what you’re saying.
Sgoteam says
I will definitely pick Saturn V up. As a huge fan of Astronomy, I’ve been dying to have a Lego set which includes something about astronomy. And boom! Saturn V. But due to my exams arriving shortly, I’ll need to postpone buying this set.
As a fan of Cars when I was just a little kid, I always wanted a Cars set, but from the last two movies, the Cars sets are too easy for me.
I will definitely pick up all five Lego Batman Movie Wave Two sets when I have time.
The Star Wars set looks nice, but the first batch that I will buy will be Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack, Forst Order Transport Battle Pack and Darth Vader Transformation.
I am really hyped for Spider-Man Homecoming and Thor Ragnarok, so I’ll definitely buy all four sets.
Jay says
Good luck with your exams! Hopefully you can reward yourself for your hard work with the Saturn 🙂
I’ll be picking up some of the smaller Cars sets – gotta get a Lightning McQueen for sure. The third movie looks pretty awesome from the trailers.
Sounds like we have very similar targets! I just picked up the Thor arena set and will be reviewing it soon 🙂
Sgoteam says
Thanks Jay. I sure hope so! Last time I got a full mark my parents rewarded with me the Yellow Submarine! I hope history repeats itself.
Warmongurl says
I have Star Wars, Lego Batman, and City Jungle sets on my list. Already got the Bounty Hunters Battle Pack so now I am most excited for the UCS Snowspeeder, Quadjumper, Republic Fighter Tank, Ultimate Batmobile, and Jungle Exploration Site. Oh, and the Saturn 5 Rocket 🙂
Jay says
That list sounds exactly like mine, minus the Quadjumper!
Chris L says
Ordered the Saturn V late last night when i checked to see if they were available online early. Glad I checked as they were on Back order by 6am. Soon my Army of Rocket Boys will have their shrine…
Jay says
Lucky you! Was surprised that they went on sale super early. Speaking of which, I need more Rocket Boys too! How large is your army?
Chris L says
Yes, I was super pumped to see I could purchase it the night before. I grabbed some of the human size lego mugs to get over the $200 free postage limit as well. A great General never discloses the true strength of his Army 😉 But at last count is was enough to launch one in to Orbit each day for at least 3 weeks 🙂
Jay says
That sounds like an impressive army! I need to step up my efforts, haha.
Chris L says
I’m sure your Corn Suit Guys (those who survived their battle with the Microwave) will bolster your numbers. Hopefully my Butterfly Girl Squad will be sufficient reinforcements though, so you may as well accept defeat 🙂
Jay says
Haha that reminds me, I need more Butterfly Girls! I haven’t seen a lot of Series 17 in the stores I’ve been too. All the boxes are cleaned out where I go!
Jeb says
Yay, new sets! No, winter! 😛 I am probably going to buy a lot of these, but I’m really just excited for The Lego Ninjago movie sets!
Jay says
Same here! Have already started saving up for Ninjago!
Craig says
Is there a reason why there is a delay between online and in store launch for the Saturn V?
No wonder I couldn’t find it in any Sydney CBD store this morning.
Jay says
It’s due to a decision by LEGO Australia to grant the Saturn V as a “timed exclusive” to the Legoland Discovery Centre and Dreamworld LEGO Store, before it gets a wider release across the country in September. Same deal with the Brickheadz.
Greg says
I ended up ordering the Saturn V even though I hadn’t planned on getting it.
I am disappointed that it was already on backorder even though it was released today.
They emailed me and said it will be a week until they ship it.
I want the Jakku Quadjummper but I will wait for a sale to get it.
Broke the bank this week as Myer has sale on at the moment and I bought 4 sets there that I wasn’t planning on getting. I bought the UCS Tie Fighter, I hope it is good as I already had the First Order Tie Fighter and I was happy with it.
Going need to get saving for the UCS Millennium Falcon.
Jay says
Very nice! Yeah, for some reason all the new sets were loaded up a little earlier than usual. A week’s delay isn’t too bad – I think they just wanted to stagger the launch.
The Quadjumper does look pretty cool but I’m not a big enough Star Wars fan to nab it! I got a few things off Myer as well, namely some of the new Friends Winter Resort sets!
I’m prepared to take out a loan for the UCS Millennium Falcon. No way my wife is going to allow me to drop all that money in one go!
VaderFan2187 says
FYI If you’re in New Zealand Whitcoulls has 20% off LEGO.
Warehouse also has the new summer sets!
Michael says
Exciting, but I’m not buying until I can get a sale. Lego is an expensive hobby! 😛
Speaking of exciting – did you see the Fishing house? man that is a pretty set. Just hope it doesn’t hit $250AUD.
Jay says
I’m in love with the Fishing House! I think for what we get with the set, the price is not too over the top. It’s a new modular-scale building for all intents and purposes.
