Brickvention 2018 is coming soon! Here’s how you can win an adult and child pass!

January 2018 is approaching, which means that one of my favourite LEGO events of the calendar year is coming – Brickvention 2018! For those of you new to LEGO Conventions, Brickvention is Australia’s largest LEGO Fan Convention.

Talented LEGO builders congregate from all over the state and country in the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton to display their awe-inspiring LEGO creations, participate in LEGO-related activities and lets fans connect with one another over an entire weekend.

Brickvention 2018 will be on from 20 – 21 January 2018. Tickets can be purchased online and will cost $18 for adults, $9 for children (4 – 14), and is free for kids under 4. Tickets usually sell out, so don’t sit on these for too long. It’s advisable to go early if you want to avoid the crowds. It can get pretty packed during the day!

Brickvention also plays host to a raft of international and local LEGO personalities. For 2018, we have the pleasure of hearing from Mariann Asanuma from the United States. She’s a self-taught LEGO artist and is the world’s first female freelance LEGO artist. She’s previously worked in the Model Shop at Legoland California.

Locally, we have Bailey Fullarton from Queensland. Check out his Flickr page to see some photos of his collection, which contains a huge range of vintage rarities.

Apart from these two headline speakers, there will also be a theatrette across the whole weekend with plenty of other guest speakers.

Instagram sensation and good mate of mine @cheepjokes and the @brickstameet crew will also be holding a silent auction for charity across the weekend and there will be many more events, interactive play areas as well as LEGO retailers and vendors there.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend Brickvention every year since 2014 and it’s safe to say that it’s been getting better year after year, so I’m really looking forward to 2018’s one.

To relive Brickvention each year and to marvel at the LEGO creations and dioramas on display, feel free to check out my write-up from past Brickventions:

Thanks to the Brickvention organising committee, I have one (1) adult pass and one (1) children pass to give away to one lucky winner.

To win, all you have to do is Like the Jay’s Brick Blog Facebook Page and the Brickvention Facebook page and leave a comment on this post about what you’re most looking forward to see at Brickvention 2018. Please don’t forget to include your email address when leaving a comment as I will be contacting the winner via email.

The winner will be announced on 1 January 2018 and will be selected randomly. It’s as easy as that!

UPDATE: Congrats to Chris Nicol! You’ve been selected as the winner and I’ll be in touch with you via email!

Special thanks to Brickvention for supplying the prize.

Are you planning to be at Brickvention this year? I’ll be attending the Convention Day (on the 19th) so if you’re going to be there, let me know in the comments! It’s always great to meet some readers in person, so don’t forget to say hi!

Hoping to head to my first Brickvention this year. Can’t wait to check out the Star Wars displays (but basically everything).

Cheers for all your work Jay!

  2. Alison says:

I already have my tickets and I am really excited about attending what will also be my fourth Brickvention as I too started in 2014. Brickvention is my favourite outing for the whole year. I always enjoy the train layout and any Elvendale worlds. I look forward to being surprised once again, as I am every year, by something really imaginative that I could never have dreamed up.

  3. Chris Nicol says:

My 6 year old son loves Lego and builds expert sets all by himself. He’s just built the Ultimate Batmobile fully by himself today which he got from Santa and I would love him to attend his first Lego convention to mix and share his Lego enjoyment with his fellow fans ?

  4. Steve Powell says:

My 4yo son & I attended for the first time last year & we loved the city set ups especially those with trains, so that’s what we are looking forward to most.

  5. Gabe says:

    Star Wars!

  6. Maria & Paul says:

Thank you for doing the giveaway! Mr 7 can’t wait to go again this year.

We are most excited to see the big train layout and Star Wars scenes.

    Maria & Paul G.
