LEGO Speed Champions 2018 Sets Unveiled – Due March 2018

Here’s your first look at all the new LEGO Speed Champions sets that will be released in the first half of 2018 as teased in the new LEGO 2018 catalogue. Porsche, Ford and Ferrari each receive 2 sets featuring a list of classic and modern cars to whet the appetite of any LEGO automotive enthusiast.

The new 2018 LEGO Speed Champions sets have a release date of March 2018.

UPDATE: The new LEGO Speed Champions sets are now on sale. Browse and buy the selection on LEGO.com or Amazon. Individual pricing and links available below.

For Ford fans, they will no doubt be delighted by 75884, which features a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, which seems to be running a quarter mile drag in 9 seconds. Not typically a Ford guy, but I do love the racing green paintjob, and gold rims.

LEGO 75884 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback

Price: AU$22.99 | US$14.99 | £19.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

Ford’s Twitter has shared a cool shot of the iconic pony car which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

LEGO 75885 Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC

Price: AU$22.99 | US$14.99 | £19.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

For fans of Ford’s rally cars, we get a Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC, which I believe is the first time we get a Rally Car in the Speed Champions theme. Won’t lie, it looks pretty boss for a Ford Fiesta.

LEGO 75886 Ferrari 488 GT3 “Scuderia Corsa”

Price: AU$22.99 | US$14.99 | £19.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

For fans of the Italian Prancing Horse, we get a Ferrari 488 GT3 “Scuderia Corsa” which features the second female driver. The first female driver in a Speed Champions set was from 75784 Chevrolet Camaro Drag Race.

LEGO 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage

Price: AU$149.99 | US$99.99 | £19.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage is something I’m pretty excited about as it includes a Ferrari 488 GTE, a Ferrari 312 T4 and Ferrari 250 GTO. The Ferrari 250 GTO is undoubtedly the highlight as it’s widely considered to be the greatest Ferrari of all time.

Going to have to get this one as I’ll probably never be able to afford a real 250 GTO.

LEGO 75887 Porsche 919 Hybrid

Price: AU$22.99 | US$14.99 | £19.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

For fans of German carmakers, we get the Le Mans Prototype (LMP) Porsche 919 Hybrid which looks pretty cool. I‘m still waiting for a 918 Spyder which is probably my favourite contemporary car at the moment – I’ll buy the 918 in a heartbeat.

Edit: Looks like a 918 has been released. Going to hunt it down shortly. Thanks for the tip, Johnnypumpkin!

LEGO 75888 Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0

Price: AU$49.99 | US$29.99 | £34.99 (Buy from LEGO.com [AUS] [USA] [UK] [Amazon])

The highlight of this entire wave for me is undoubtedly 75888 Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0. Featuring 2 great 911s including the sublime aircooled Turbo 3.0 in lime green, this has got “buy me!” written all over it for me.

So there you have it, the lineup of the early 2018 Speed Champions sets! I like the variety between Italian, American and German carmakers, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. Which one of these are going to be on your wishlist come March?

  1. Jacob gordon says:

love the ford mustang set totally worth it!!!:)

  2. Simone says:

Anybody no what date in March

  3. Freja says:

You realize that the “female driver” is actually the real-life female driver who won the championship in the car, right?

    • Jay says:

I don’t really follow motorsports so that’s news to me! What’s her name, I’d love to learn more about her!

    • hvr777 says:

She is Christina Nielsen from #63 Scuderia Corsa team, racing at IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship on GTD class (FIA GT3-spec cars).
Her fulltime teammate is the Italian Alessandro Balzan.

Christina Nielsen & Alessandro Balzan were the 2016 & 2017 GTD class champion with Scuderia Corsa team (Ferrari 488 GT3)

I recommend you all to watch IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship races, the races are very competitive, there are Prototype class, GTLM class and GTD class.

      • Jay says:

Oh awesome, thanks for the info! I’ll definitely look her up. Unfortunately, I don’t follow the races closely. I think the only motorsport I follow is F1 and even then, I don’t follow it as I used to back in the Schumacher days.

  4. Anthony Christian says:

For mind – another great offering.

    • Jay says:

Yeah, seems like the strongest lineup yet too. With this and the Chiron coming, it looks like 2018 is another great year for LEGO petrolheads.

  5. FowlerBricks says:

    That rally car!! So awesome!!

  6. The use of the rollercoaster tracks to create a curved sign in 75889 is just genius.

  7. Rob says:

This is by far one of the greatest releases in the Speed Champions line! What an amazing collection of cars. The 3 car Ferrari set is a must for me and that ‘68 Ford. Wow. Thanks for the info Jay!!

  8. Johnnypumpkin says:

    Jay, a 918 (set 75910) was released in 2015.

  9. Magmafrost says:

The new 2×2 triangle tile is super interesting, but mostly Im excited for the baby bow wedge in new colors. Especially white, I need those so badly.

  10. Greg says:

I will probably get the both Porsche sets as I collect those.
I don’t think the 911 designs are that great, the 918 looks ok.
Maybe I am biased as I have been working on my own Porsche designs to cover this history of Porsche in Lego.
I like the Ferrari set, it looks good and nice select of cars.
Mustang… “Yawn”…. come on Lego you already did a Mustang do something different.

    • Jay says:

Haha, LEGO have to cater to the Americans with the Fords and Mustangs. It is after all, their largest market.

      • brandn says:

Interestingly though, the largest market for American cars is in China right now.
The Chinese pumped in so much money it kept GM from tanking during the 2008
recession. Anyways, I’m super excited about ALL of these sets. I hope this theme
continues indefinitely. Also, I wish Toysrus was not the only distributor in the U.S
that sells them. Is it like this in Australia where only one distributor can sell speed
champions? They don’t allow Target or Walmart to hold any of these.
