Preview: LEGO Jurassic World (2018) Fallen Kingdom sets

LEGO have just officially unveiled 3 Jurassic World sets, ahead of their official reveal at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany.

Three sets were showcased at the Toy Fair and thanks to The Brick Fan, we now have a better look at these 3 sets. LEGO have shown off a regular LEGO set, a Duplo and a Juniors set.

There will be a grand total of THIRTEEN, yes, thirteen Jurassic World sets spanning LEGO System, Juniors, Duplo and Brickheadz.

Superbowl Teasers – LEGO Carnotaurus and new Pterodactyls

Courtesy of LEGO’s Instagram’s account during the Super Bowl, we also get our first official glimpse as the new big bad dinosaur from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the Carnotaurus, which kinda looks like a T-rex with horns. Really bad-ass.

We also got a look at new pterodactyls, which have a new colour scheme and a closer look at the new Owen Grady minifig.

LEGO 75928 Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit – US$39.99 (397 pieces)

First up, we have Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit, a medium-sized set featuring everyone’s favourite Velociraptor, Blue. It looks like her’s being hunted down by a Helicopter and Owen, who is trying to bait her with what seems to be her egg.

Blue has new markings across her body compared to her previous outing and looks wilder and more feral. Owen played by Hollywood heartthrob Chris Pratt (still feels weird to say that), also looks to have a new updated hairdo, taking style cues from that the other hotter Chris (Evans) aka Captain America.

LEGO Juniors 10758 T-Rex Breakout – US$49.99 (150 pieces)

Most interesting to me are the new Jurassic World Juniors sets. We get a peek at 10758 T-Rex Breakout featuring everyone’s favourite momma tyrannosaurus rex, Rexy.

This seems like a fairly affordable way to get your hands on Rexy, and the set seems like it’ll be a fairly great introduction to Jurassic World and dinosaurs for young builders who aren’t quite ready to move on to regular more detailed LEGO sets.

The set includes 3 minifigures, and the Jurassic World gates, as well as what seems to be a baby dinosaur! I’m looking forward to picking this set up, as Juniors sets do not have stickers, which means all the elements you see in the photo above are printed.

The printed Jurassic World gate overrun by vines also looks pretty good and the pricepoint seems kinda decent, considering the fact that you get a LEGO T-Rex figure.

Duplo 10880 T-Rex Tower

Lastly, we get a look at the first Jurassic World Duplo set, 10880 T-Rex Tower. Featuring what seems to be Duplo versions of Rexy and Owen, this set is great for parents with toddlers that intend to get them into dinosaurs.

I have a young daughter that will be turning 2 in a few months, so I’m definitely getting this for me her. It’ll be a great uh, educational tool to teach her about dinosaurs and Chris Pratt.

There will be more sets within the Duplo, Junior and System range, so keep a lookout on this post for more details and photos when they’re eventually revealed. LEGO Jurassic World will be released in stores in mid-April, so not long now!

Let me know what you think of the Jurassic World sets so far! Are you as excited for these as I am?

I love lego jurassic world and the movie.

  2. Phoenix Plays says:

LEGO® should remake other sets from Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 2, and Jurassic Park 3, they should make a Spinosaurus for Jurassic Park 3, and a Brontosaurus for Jurassic Park 2, and then make a Giant Jurassic Park Gate with a T-Rex and those green with red cars that appeared in Jurassic Park, they should start making LEGO® Dinosaurs, that we have all wanted for years. (And also should make a LEGO® Mosasaurus.

There are really strong rumours (read: leaks aplenty) that there will be a Jurassic Park set which includes Alan Grant.

I’d LOVE a brontosaurus, but to ensure that it’s to scale, I don’t know if LEGO can create such a massive dinosaur. I’d really love a Stegosaurus and to see a return of the triceratops personally.

    • Luke says:

Yes it thinow the same. I have always wanted sets from jurassic park .

  3. Warmongurl says:

The 2015 Jurassic World sets had only predatory dinosaurs. While I was happy to add a couple raptors to my animal collection, I’m hoping for some herbivores (stegosaurus or triceratops preferably) in the unrevealed Jurassic World sets.

  4. Naomi says:

We are so excited here! My 3 boys all love dinosaurs, but the 4 year old is pretty obsessed!

I love that Lego are including all 3 levels of Lego with this range. My youngest is ok with regular Lego, but the Juniors range is really what he still needs.

And I’ve got my young nephews (beginning their dino obsession, lol!) sorted for their birthdays with the Duplo range 🙂 Can’t wait till it’s all released!

    • Jay says:

I’m almost 30 and I’m obsessed with dinos too!

Yeah, it’s a really smart move from LEGO to introduce products across the range, so there’s something for everyone. They know that parents are going to go gaga over the Duplo dinos, I already am!

  5. Hammerdragon says:

Even at 9 my son is still obsessed about Dinos and I reckon all LEGO sets this year for him will include dino’s and animals. Along with the new City sets with bears and big cats my wallet is weeping already!
Like both the Juniors and Duplo sets and with baby nieces and nephews on the way these will make good xmas gifts. Can’t go wrong with another T-rex which will take our number to 3.

    • Sara says:

Oooh, I’m going to have to look into sets with big cats! My daughter would love that! You’re right, Lego, is timeless.

    • Jay says:

I’m still waiting on a really great sale for the two Jungle City sets for the big cats. great to see so many animals this year. Really hope we get more variety with the rest of the Jurassic World sets including the return of the Triceratops.
