Review: LEGO Easter Bunny Hut Promo (2018)

Happy Easter to everyone celebrating around the world! Whether this holiday has religious or confectionery significance to you, or you’re just glad for a few extra days off work, I hope you have a fantastic one!

As it’s Easter, I’ve took some photos and have whipped up a quick review of the 2018 Easter Bunny Hut promo!

Every year, LEGO has a few offers and promos to commemorate the Easter holidays, and this year, LEGO are offering a special Easter Bunny Hut promo as a gift with purchase when you buy US$35 (USA), AU$55 (AU) or £35 (UK) worth of LEGO from the online store or at LEGO Brand Retail Stores. The offer runs till the 2nd of April 2018 so there’s still plenty of time to pick him up if you haven’t already.

Don’t forget, LEGO also has Double VIP points on LEGO.com that ends on 30 March!

Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend more than you have to, you can buy the Easter Bunny Hut from Amazon if you can’t think of anything to order on LEGO.com.

In the same vein as last year’s Chicken Suit Guy hut, the promo comes in its very own special “house-shaped” packaging, with a paper sleeve surrounding it.

Removing the sleeve reveals the Easter Bunny’s Hut, which is whimsical and delightfully designed with plenty of Easter Eggs – literal ones and figurative ones like the LEGO Ducks in the windowsill on the back.

Opening the door reveals the minifigure who is snugly slotted into the plastic packaging.

Here’s a look at the Easter Bunny minifigure which is utterly adorable. The Bunny Suit Guy’s (my favourite minifig of all time) ears make a welcome return but this is much more than a reissue. The Easter Bunny has a cute buck-toothed smile, freckles and bushy orange eyebrows.

He’s wearing a light blue jacket, with green stripes and a yellow bowtie. For accessories, he comes with a paintbrush which has blue paint on its tip, which I believe is new and currently exclusive to this set. The Easter egg that he comes with is also exclusive, as it has printing along the edge – both of which are really nice touches.

From the back, you can see the back printing, and a small fluffy bunny tail, as if the minifig couldn’t be cuter.

This is a really standout promotional minifigure and is quite possibly one of the best promos that LEGO have ever released. It brings back a really popular accessory (the bunny ears) but at the same introduces some new variants for existing accessories.

Thematically, the Easter Bunny is also perfect. LEGO has never done an Easter Bunny minifigure and they completely nailed it this time with its charming design. The minifig’s bucktooth smile is just so utterly adorable.

Here’s a comparison of the Easter Bunny with all the other Bunny minifigures LEGO have released so far. From left to right – Bunny Batman from the 2017 Toys R Us Bricktober promo, Easter Bunny from 2018, Series 7’s Bunny Suit Guy and March Harriet from the LEGO Batman Movie Minifigures Series 1.

All in all, I can’t help but recommend picking this promo set up, especially if you love LEGO minifigures. It’s utterly charming, comes with some great accessories and LEGO doesn’t make you jump through unnecessary hoops to get it.

With double VIP points and a low gift with purchase threshold, you should order something from LEGO.com if you haven’t already!

Thanks for reading this short review! Let me know in the comments what you think of this year’s LEGO Easter Bunny promo and if you like what LEGO is doing with promos this year with these “House-type” special packaging.

Happy Easter!
