If you want to read my thoughts on the set and check out more photos, I’ve written up a First Impressions article.
Personally, I think this set looks fantastic – it’s big, brash and bold with a wonderfully unique design and plenty of little nooks and crannies stuffed with details.
I do think the price is a little high, as it’s competing against massive sets like Ninjago City in the same price bracket, but I do think the set is not particularly overpriced given the sheer size of the set and details packed in, so I wouldn’t just look at piece-count.
That said, I’m hoping to review this in the future, so keep a lookout for a comprehensive review of Welcome to Apocalypseburg!
Are you picking up this set today from LEGO.com? Let me know if you are in the comments!

It’s beyond my Mr5…I discovered at Christmas that the Ninjago Volcano Lair is too big for him to build alone, so a set this big will have to wait!
On another note, there is some Jurassic World Dino Duplo…which you were hoping for when your Bub was born…did Santa bring her some at Christmas?

Oh yeah, definitely will be a bit too much.
Yes, I have the small Jurassic World Duplo set (the one with the Triceratops and Brachiosaurus) and my little one loves it. Still waiting on the T-Rex one to go on sale for a good price before I pounce on it.

A spare $500 after Xmas, wallet says no.

Oh I get the feeling. I’m still yet to snag Ninjago City myself. Fingers crossed it comes to retail this year.
