LEGO Minifigures Series 19 revealed!

We now finally have official photos of the upcoming LEGO Minifigures Series 19 which has a release date of 1 September 2019!

Update: Read my complete review of LEGO Minifigures Series 19 to check my thoughts and more detailed photos of the entire set.

Series 19 is now available worldwide – you can buy order them in random blind bags from LEGO.com or if you’re after a complete set, you can usually find them on Amazon.

In Australia, you can order them from Amazon Australia or all major toy stores.

The upcoming numbered series of minifigures once again returns to LEGO’s Collectible Minifigures roots with a colourful and eclectic cast of characters to collect.

This is also quite a historic minifigure series as we have seven (or possibly eight – Care Bear/Blacktron Bounty Hunter’s gender are unknown) female minifigures in this series, which I’m super freaking excited about.

What a win for gender equality and for LEGO to finally put out a 50-50 gendered series! Heck, you could even make the argument that the Batlord Ghost Knight has no gender, and then you’d have a female-dominated series.

There will only be 16 minifigures to collect, unlike the most recent Disney Series 2 which had 18 characters to collect.

LEGO Minifigures will always be my first love, so I’m really excited for Series 19.

I do like licensed minifigures series, but they can sometimes be quite hit and miss, whereas the Core numbered minifigures series tends to be much more fun, with so much more variety in terms of characters.

Here are the 16 new LEGO minifigures to collect in a full set of Series 19. Do note that these are my own names, and when we get the official names, I’ll update this accordingly.

Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact box breakdown or distribution of Series 19, but I would be very surprised (and upset) if we don’t get at least 3 full sets a box.

  1. BMX Bike Rider
  2. Batlord Ghost Knight
  3. Bathtub Guy
  4. Rugby Player
  5. Pro Gamer/Streamer
  6. Pizza Guy
  7. Puppy Poo Cleaner (definitely not the official name)
  8. Rainbow “Totally Not a Care Bear” Bear
  9. Female Hacker
  10. Female Mummy
  11. Fox Suit Girl
  12. Gardener
  13. Blacktron Bounty Hunter
  14. Monkey King aka Sun Wukong
  15. Female Firefighter
  16. Explorer AKA Johnny Thunder!

This really looks like a particularly solid series and there are some amazing new accessories such as a rubber ducky, BMX bike, a LEGO Poo freaking finally), a LEGO Sausage Dog, and Flamingo.

There are also all sorts of cool callbacks, like what is most definitely Johnny Thunder, or maybe his son, a Blacktron Bounty Hunter, and also a callback to the Batlord from LEGO’s Fright Knight castle theme.

Add a dash of pop culture with pro-gamer that’s a total homage to JackSepticEye, (a popular video game streamer/Youtuber), and CareBears, and you’ve got potentially one of LEGO’s best series yet.

I’m most excited about Fox Suit Girl, Batlord Ghost Knight, Pizza Guy, the Care Bear and the Monkey King (aka Sun Wukong from the Chinese epic Journey to the West).

Check out all the minifigures below! Let me know in the comments which ones you’re most excited about!

LEGO Minifigures Series 19 has a release date of 1 September 2019, and I absolutely can’t wait to review this series!

  1. I I went to my Lego store September 1 to buy Friends central perk and was surprised to see the new minis and with the help of the salesman I got all 16 of them

  2. Kathy says:

    Got a full box of Series 19 figures and breakdown was very disappointing: 1 x 5, 2 x 3, 3 x 4, 4 x5, 5 x 4, 6 x 5, 7 x 4, 8 x 3,
    9 x 3, 10 x 4, 11 x 5, 12 x 3, 13 x 4, 14 x1, 15 x 4, 16 x 3

Could only make 1 full set out of box of 60!

  3. Mikedaboi says:

Also why so many people hate this series? Perhaps the price just going up?!

  4. Mikedaboi says:

When I scrolled down the list and saw that Blacktron minifigure: “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!”

  5. Richard Mehrtens says:

Can anyone tell me what is on the bottom of Pizza Guy’s accessory – it looks to me like a burger but without the top bun, or something that is covered in melted cheese.

  6. Arvin says:

This is a set with so much fun attached to it! Can’t wait for it. I can’t say which one’s my favourite at this stage, but the BMX Bike Rider is looking pretty cool!

  7. Philip Ward says:

I like the programmer and the fox girl and the Blacktron guy.

  8. Charlotte says:

I think this series looks awesome! And hooray for so many female minifigs!
    I’m excited for
    Fox Girl
    Flamingo Lady
    Doggy Poo Cleaner (two dogs!!)
    Pizza Guy
    Programmer girl

    My kids want
    Pro Gamer
    Pizza Guy
    Ghost Knight
Explorer/Johnny Thunder- my 8yo made himself as a minifig and he’d pretty much put together another Johnny Thunder, so it’s a sure bet we’ll get this one.

I love all the new accessories!

I’m disappointed in the Fire Woman (they should have just put her in one of the fire sets?!!) and the Care Bear’s colours look weird to me and I’m an 80s girl who still has her original Care Bears!

But all in all, we’ll probably end up with the whole set. Lol!

  9. Mat says:

    My Favourites are:
    The Explorer
    The Ghost Night
    The Streamer
    And the Blacktron Bounty Hunter

Everything else is a bit barren tbh

  10. Tapisbis says:

In general I’m a fan, although must say the Care Bear leaves me very cold. I can think of a thousand CMFs before you’d have to scrape the bottom of the copyright barrels and pull out a Care Bear, She-Ra anyone? I’m also a bit at a loss for Johnny Thunder annoying a chameleon. I’ll get it, because I want the chameleon, but JT leaves me scratching my head. I keep holding out for a Bee Keeper, a nun or priest or rabbi or mullah (although I know why we won’t get one), a garbo, a Terracotta Warrior (or 1,000), pirates that aren’t captains, another female zombie, I could keep going . . . there’s a lot to come.

  11. Looks like another great series! That space bounty hunter dude has me the most excited. 😀

  12. Anthony Christian says:

At first glance I was a bit meh about these.

But the accessories for some of the minifigs look great. I’ll be after some BMX bikes, dogs, chickens, flamingoes and chameleons.

  13. Gomek says:

What a weird mix of awesome figures and head scratchers.

Always love bringing back the past themes, so the Frightknight and Blacktron figures are huge wins. I can even appreciate Johnny Thunder, though I’d prefer it be a character to go with Johnny Thunder.

I would have loved an Egyptian figure, but what we got is perhaps a person in a confused Egyptian costume or something. Perhaps people in ancient Egypt actually walked around in mummy costumes? I could have mix matched to get a new mummy and citizen but the head is half and half. Hoping for a reversible head here.

Firefighter could have been included in any number of city sets and is a total waste.

Monkey King is awesome. And the CareBear is weirdly mix matched like they got their costume at the thrift store dumpster.

Still, the Blacktron, MonkeyKing and FrightKnight figs are worth the 1/2 hour of embarrassment feeling packages at the lego store.

    • Jay says:

A female Johnny Thunder counterpart would’ve been brilliant.

The mummy could be an Egyptian princess/queen that’s about to be embalmed?

Yeah Firefighter is a little boring, but the helmet with the hairpiece is pretty interesting. I do see where they’re going with the female character for what is generally a male-dominated.

I think with the Care Bear they had to do their best to avoid copyright infringement!

      • Jagd says:

The mummy queen is more like normal lady wearing costume. Maybe good if the face similar with typical undead minifigs with feminime touch but I’m not confinced that she’s a mummy from ancient era

  14. Ross Thompson. says:

A couple of fun things: the programmer girl’s t-shirt has binary code on the front. If you convert it to text, it spells out LEGO.

Also an interesting throwback to the Series 16 Cyborg on the gamer’s tile.

I also really like the in-joke with the fox girl: the riddle of the fox, chicken and the grain…

Lego have made a real effort with this series, which is lovely to see.

  15. Logan says:

There are a lot of amazing figures in this set. Can’t wait.

  16. AA says:

Very excited for the new series! Lots I want to collect

  17. Joe B. says:

I like pizza guy, mummy, and rugby guy. And kudos on gender equality, but I’m wondering if Lego would ever release collectible minidolls. My daughters would be all over that. Plus it would be a great way to get them extra people to play with since the sets that come with minidolls come with so few.

  18. Manny says:

Wow, looks like they’ve really ramped up on the accessories in this series.

Like the idea of monkey magic but I think he looks a bit freaky and scary. The ‘care bear’ also looks a bit wrong to me, I think its a bit too big.

And the headgear on the rugby player doesn’t look like a rubgy player’s headgear, though I do like the rugby ball.

Not sure which minifigure I like the best, I do think the accessories are cool though, and I would like to have liked monkey magic, just doesn’t look like the monkey that I grew up watching. Maybe I like the pooper scooper figure best, but I think it’s because of the two dogs rather than the figure itself.

    • Jay says:

Yeah I don’t think I remember a series with so many new accessories and animals.

The Care Bear uses the Panda Suit Guy’s helmet as a base, so they’re limited with their option there. The LEGO poo is definitely a contender for Accessory of the Year.
