10267 Gingerbread House is the sweetest LEGO Christmas treat

Say hello to this year’s LEGO Christmas Winter-themed set – 10267 Gingerbread House!

While it’s not quite a LEGO Winter Village-themed set, the concept and design is so delightfully bright and creative. That said, you can make an argument that the Gingerbread House could technically exist within the Winter village.

The LEGO Gingerbread House set will be priced at US$99.99/AU$159.99 and contains 1,477-pieces. It has a release date of 1 October, but LEGO VIP members get early access to the set on 18 September.

The LEGO Gingerbread House’s design will be familiar to fans of LEGO’s Winter Village theme – you get a quaint doll-house cottage but instead of it being covered in snow, it’s covered in icing.

The last few years of LEGO Winter Village sets have been fairly forgettable, so I’m really glad to see LEGO flexing their creative muscles again, with this fantastical take on a Gingerbread House.

Full disclosure, I love all things Gingerbread, and I look forward to the festive season each year just so I can stuff my face with Gingerbread people or structures.

Who lives in a Gingerbread House? A Gingerbread Man, and a Gingerbread Woman – you may remember the debut of the Gingerbread Man minifigure in Series 11, and these two minifigures have slightly more defined features such as a moustache for the man, and rosy cheeks, lipstick and a skirt for the woman.

What happens when a Gingerbread Man and a Gingerbread Woman love each other?

They make a Gingerbread baby of course!

I love everything about the colourful, candy-covered exteriors, but the interiors aren’t too shabby themselves.

Designed like a dollhouse, the insides of the Gingerbread House pack a ton of detail with living spaces for the entire Gingerbread Family.

Check out the features on the inside. There’s a bedroom, a bassinet for the Gingerbread Baby, fireplace, a kitchen to bake cookies (are they cannibals??), and even a picnic table outside.

My favourite part of the house? The bathtub, which I imagine could be filled with milk.

The Christmas tree isn’t the biggest this time around, but I do like the new Star that they’ve used to top the tree.

I haven’t been this excited for a LEGO Christmas set in a long, long while.

I’ve been a massive fan of the LEGO Winter Village theme since inception, there’s been a distinct lack in imaginative sets in recent years, but the LEGO Gingerbread House is an amazing take on a much-beloved Christmas tradition.

You can tell that the designers absolutely had a ton of fun with the set, judging from the highly detailed exteriors and the playful features contained in the set.

This is a must-buy for me personally, and even if you don’t collect Winter Village sets, the whimsical nature of a LEGO Gingerbread House inhabited by a Gingerbread Minifigure family will appeal to a whole bunch of LEGO fans – from families looking to assemble a festive build, to long-time Winter Village fans.

What do you think of the set? Is this going on your Christmas shopping list this year? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section!

The LEGO Gingerbread House set will be released on 18 September on LEGO.com for VIP members.

    • Angela Schmidt says:

Did you order from Lego? This is just a blog about Legos, Jay does not sell them.

    • Jay says:

Hey Richard, so sorry about that. I’m just write a LEGO blog and don’t work for LEGO.

I highly recommend getting in touch with LEGO’s customer service to sort this out.

  2. There will be second production run available in two weeks.
Production priority was given to Star Wars sets.

  3. Lauren says:

Do you know why this particular set has become so hard to find? I have searched and searched for over a month and everywhere is sold out. That has not been the case for so many years of the winter sets. Did something happen in production with this set? I can only find it on eBay for 3x the cost, which is so frustrating. Any insight?

    • Jay says:

Sorry it’s been so difficult to find. It’s an amazing set, and one of the most unique Winter sets that LEGO have ever produced, so I just think it’s been so popular that LEGO have been struggling to keep it in stock.

It should restock in the new year…

  4. motfis says:

will this be limited edition, or continue production in the future?

  5. JC says:

Great review/ Definitely want to add it to our Christmas collection, however…
€89.99 if you’re in the EU, but not if you’re in Belgium where it’s €99.99! How do they justify a ten euro difference between neighbouring countries… ?!

    • Jay says:

Thanks JC! EU pricing seems to be all over the place – I’ve heard of cases where people from the Netherlands literally cross the border to Germany to buy LEGO there as it’s so much cheaper.

  6. Colby says:

I’ve never bought a Winter Village set before, and I regret not buying Santa’s Workshop. But as a huge lover of Christmastime, this set is a must-buy! So cute! Love the imagination and creativity put into this set ?

    • Jay says:

I think the Santa’s Workshop is still available in some of the smaller toy stores? I wonder if LEGO are spinning off a “fantasy” Winter village theme.

  7. Anthony Christian says:

    Winner, winner gingerbread dinner.

I have skipped the last couple of years offerings – this is just brilliant.

  8. Angela Schmidt says:

Great review as always! We have all the village sets and they were getting a little predictable. My hubby puts them together on Christmas Eve with our kids:) I heard there would be another Village set, have you heard this?

    Cheers!
    Angela

P.S. Happy Birthday to your daughter! 3 is my all time favorite age, enjoy it!

  9. Jayne says:

Yay…. that’s great news. I just love Gingerbread Houses and particularly love this one.

    • Jay says:

I just got mine, and I can’t wait to get into it. Add to the fact that I love eating real Gingerbread Houses/People, this set is a dream come true for me!

  10. JOHN in Canada says:

This looks so good! My LEGO love is always focused on detailed structures but in this set the minifigs actually have me interested too. This will now enter my #1 must-buy spot and shove everything else down one notch. Also, an alert has now been set on my phone calendar. How many sleeps until September 18th?

  11. Andy says:

Oh man… I’m already planning to (finally) get the Holiday train set this year, but this is definitely making my wallet itchy…

It doesn’t look like the armchair is fixed either, which is a good thing – I think it clutters that space up a little. I love the fireplace with the stockings also, and removing that chair gives a great view of it. I wonder if you’d be able to get some LEDs in there to make it flicker?

Looks like a probable buy for me too ?
