Australian LEGO Sales December 2015

November 30, 2015 By Jay 4 Comments

UPDATE: For Boxing Day sales and offers, check out this post which has all the deals from Myer, David Jones and Target.

UPDATE: Added in a Myer 20% off sale (yay) and 1-day David Jones Sale.

Guys, get this – it’s DECEMBER. Final month of the year. I’m mildly horrified at how quickly this year has gone but also incredibly excited about the holiday season which brings us… LEGO sales and offers! In the lead up to Christmas, I’m expecting some awesome sales as retailers launch one final salvo to tempt us to part with our hard earned cash just in time for Christmas!

Here’s the final Australian LEGO sale roundup post for the holiday season. I’ve bought a bit too much LEGO this year so I’ll be trying REALLY hard to resist the discounts and offers but I hope this helps you find some great deals!

Myer (Sale Info Link 16 – 24 December)

Myer December LEGO Sale 20 per cent off

Myer has FINALLY come to their senses and will be offering a blanket 20% off LEGO sale all the way till Christmas even. This is a huge improvement over their current “selected sets on sale” catalogue – in fact, it pretty much overrides the stupid catalogue.

Myer’s back onto my “Nice List” this year and it’ll be a great place to pick up any last-minute Christmas gifts. Myer also has a complete range of current Modulars which should sell pretty fast with 20% off. The new Ideas Doctor Who set has also been spotted at some Myer stores, so it’s a great time to pick one up if you’re a Whovian.

David Jones (16 December)

David Jones LEGO Sale 16 December

David Jones has a one day sale (both online and in-store) where you can get 20% off all full-priced toys. Pretty decent since David Jones also has a large range of Modulars and exclusives. If you’re lucky you might even find a Ferris Wheel but chances are it’s probably sold out.

Doctor Who sets have also been reportedly spotted at David Jones, so it might be worth checking in with them today if you’re nearby one.

Big W (Catalogue Link 3 – 9 December)

Big W LEGO Catalogue Sale 3 December 2015

This… has to be some kind of Christmas miracle. Out of nowhere, and I mean NOWHERE, Big W surprises us with two amazing offers.

Firstly, the new Force Awakens C-3PO polybag (5002948) is going to be an exclusive bonus when you spend $30 on LEGO during this promotional period. Someone at LEGO must’ve been listening to the collective cries of Australian fans and I’m so delighted that for once, just this once, we’re not shafted when it comes to promotional polybags. Well done, LEGO Australia!

Secondly, the legendary LEGO 10188 Death Star is back on sale at Big W which I did not see coming as well. This will probably be your LAST chance to get this set as it’s already on the brink on retirement (it’s Out of Stock online) and I’m reasonably informed that we’re going to get another updated Death Star (or Episode 7 equivalent) sometime next year.

It’s also about $100 cheaper than online and with Big W notorious for understocking these big ticket sets, I’d urge you to get down to your closest Big W ASAP to pick it up.

Let me say that I am really impressed with Big W’s LEGO offering! On to the catalogue, there are selected sets on sale with some notable discounts on LEGO Friends and City sets.

Set’s that are in bold have discounts greater than 20% off RRP which is calculated based on the set’s usual price and not Big W’s Every Day Low Prices.

Sets marked with an * are exclusive to Big W.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

  • 10188 Death Star – $598 (RRP $699)*
  • 75105 Millennium Falcon – $199 (RRP $250)
  • 75102 Poe’s X-Wing Fighter- $99 (RRP $130)
  • 75099 Rey’s Speeder – $29 (RRP $40)

City

  • 60002 Fire Truck  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60043 Prisoner Transport  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60081 Pickup Tow Truck  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 6002 Dune Buggy Trailer  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60083 Snowplow Truck  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60084 Racing Bike Transporter  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60073 Service Truck  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60057 Camper Van  – $19 (RRP $30)
  • 60078 Utility Shuttle  – $19 (RRP $30)

  • 41093 Heartlake Hair Salon – $30 (RRP $45)
  • 41100 Heartlake Private Jet – $25 (RRP $40)
  • 41101 Heartlake Grand Hotel – $134 (RRP $190)
  • 41106 Pop Star Tour Bus – $60 (RRP $80)
  • 41107 Pop Star Limo – $34 (RRP $40)

Myer (Catalogue Link 26 November – 24 December)

Myer LEGO Catalogue Sale December 2015

Myer LEGO Catalogue Sale December 2015 2

Myer have a month-long catalogue which runs till Christmas Eve. Unlike previous years where we could expect a blanket 20% off LEGO sale during the festive period, Myer have opted to only discount selected sets.

A holiday staple in the Myer Catalogue are the extremely popular Creator Expert Modular buildings and exclusives such as the UCS Slave 1 – all of which return to Myer shelves and their online store this year.

Other than the exclusives, I wasn’t too impressed by the selection at Myer. I haven’t been down to the Emporium to check stock levels, but all the big ticket items seem to be available for purchase online, which is a good thing since you don’t have to battle the crowds. Click on the links to purchase them online.

Too bad this seems to be the end of LEGO Modulars and exclusives falling under a blanket 20% sale. They’re still slightly cheaper than RRP, but the savings are definitely not as tantalising as before. You’re really only getting, at best 10% off the Modulars and Slave 1 with this sale.

Here are the highlights of the Myer catalogue:

Sets marked with an * are exclusive to Myer.

  • LEGO 75060 UCS Slave 1 – $279 (RRP $299)*
  • LEGO 10246 Detective’s Office – $209 (RRP $229)*
  • LEGO 10232 Palace Cinema – $179 (RRP $199)
  • LEGO 10218 Pet Shop – $249 (RRP $279)
  • LEGO 10243 Parisian Restaurant – $229 (RRP $249)
  • LEGO 10242 Creator Mini Cooper – $129 (RRP $149)

That’s it for now, check back to this page and I’ll be updating with any other LEGO sales that show up in December. Happy shopping!

Would you recommend getting the Death Star? I haven’t got any Star Wars sets at home, but really love the movies and am excited for The Force Awakens. Am tossing up between the Death Star and some newer sets like the X-Wing, Millenium Falcon and First Order Troop Transporter…

Role models are important. Thank you @lego for su Role models are important.

Thank you @lego for such an inspiring gift-with-purchase to celebrate #internationalwomensday 2021.

Amelia Earhart embodies #ChooseToChallenge, the theme of #iwd2021 by proving that women can fly high, and break down barriers.

This is set is a great educational tool, fantastic display piece and an all-around poignant celebration of Amelia Earhart'a achievements as an aviation pioneer.
Its quite rare for a @LEGO set to evoke so much no Its quite rare for a @LEGO set to evoke so much nostalgia, joy and whimsy but the #LEGOIdeas 21326 Winnie The Pooh set never misses a beat. 🍯

From the highly detailed minifigures which bring AA Milne's characters to life, to the lush (yet deceptively advanced!) Oak Tree design, this set has plenty to love for @disney fans, Winnie the Pooh fans, and parents who want a tactile way of introducing Pooh stories to their kids through play.

The playful, joyful and nostalgic essence of Winnie the Pooh is celebrated in stunning fashion – not just by the incredible cast of minifigures and the lengths that LEGO have gone to capture their likeness, but in the overall build.

LEGO have blended nostalgia, a fun building experience and playfulness in this set unlike any other before.

Hit the link in bio to see more photos and read my full review! The set releases on 18 March for LEGO VIPs, ahead of a 1 April global launch.

Thanks @LEGO for sending this early review set! 💛

Pack your walking stick because we're going on an Pack your walking stick because we're going on an adventure to explore the LEGO Hundred Acre Wood with @lego LEGO 21326 Winnie the Pooh!

To celebrate its 95th anniversary, Winnie the Pooh & friends will make their LEGO debut in this 1,265-piece set that will retail for US$99.99 / AU$159.99 / £89.99.

The set's release date is 18 March 2021 for LEGO VIP members, and 1 April 2021 for a wider release and will be available on LEGO.com or your local LEGO Store.

It's pretty clear that LEGO have yet another winner on their hands with Winnie the Pooh. An eternal favourite of any generation, Winnie the Pooh's carefree, joyous nature is just the antidote we need in these troubling times, and I'm so glad that LEGO have done a terrific job with this set.

Stay tuned for my full review tomorrow!
8 years ago, our lives changed forever as we embar 8 years ago, our lives changed forever as we embarked on this crazy adventure as husband and wife!

Last year was definitely the most unprecedented™ one yet, but one that I will treasure forever.

It was an incredibly challenging year, having had to navigate through multiple job changes, yet you have never once wavered with your support and faith that I would find my feet eventually.

I might have caused some sleepless nights when work was uncertain, yet you continued to be a pillar of strength to our family, and by God's eternal grace, we always seem to come out on top.

Working from home has been truly enjoyable, especially now that you get a glimpse into the banality of work life, Zoom calls, meetings that could be emails, corporate jargon and why there must always at least 2 mugs on my desk at all times.

Thanks for taking on a second job as WFH Office Manager, tolerating my Amazon addiction and sticking around in spite of my crippling caffeine addiction.

Happy anniversary, love and here's to many more happy years ❤️

It's a bit of a strange one this year, with the pandemic throwing plans into disarray, and my family being further away than usual, so celebrations were a little different in 2021.

Thank you @LEGO for an excellent range of Chinese Traditional Festival sets. 🙏

@little.ong (and myself) really loved the Duplo Happy Childhood Moments set, and I especially enjoyed the new dumplings element! 🥟

Spring Lantern Festival is one of the best LEGO sets I've had the pleasure of building, and I also appreciated the foray into the mythological origins of Lunar New Year with Story of Nian. 🧨🧧🎆

More sets that celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the world, please! 🌏
