Announcing the winners of the Chinese New Year Giveaway!

I’m very pleased to be announcing the winners of the Chinese New Year giveaway I ran a couple of weeks ago.

A massive thank you to everyone who participated – I had a really great time seeing everyone’s entries and reading everyone’s stories about their favourite cultural holidays.

As with every giveaway I run, it’s always really difficult to pick the winners, but there was one particular entry that stood out from all the others.

Huge congratulations to Yong Min Jiet for this beautiful oriental temple, complete with a purple lion dancer! Really love the intricate details of the temple, and the sand-green roof as well.

There are tons of great details such as the lanterns, and ornate front doors, as well as the grey stone lion standing guard outside.

Yong Min Jiet has won himself a copy of the limited edition Dragon Dance set! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your beautiful build with us!

The runner-up prize (a Piggy Guy minifigure and a LEGO Pig) goes to Zee Fowler for this mashup of Christmas and Ninjago! Love the use of snow, but more importantly, the simple Christmas tree with Ninjago weapons as ornaments.

Really loved the colours and composition of this photo, and it’s quite a neat take on Christmas!

Last but not least, in the Under-12 Category, we have Matthew C with his take on Australia Day, capturing both Swimming and Lunch. Love the inclusion of snags, and a seagull attacking leftover food on a park bench, as well as the really clever palm tree in the background.

This is as Strayan as it gets and it was such a fun build!
