Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you had (or will have) an amazing one!
I’m more than happy to announce the winners of this year’s Valentine’s photo competition. We had a ton of entries this year (45 in all!) and it was a blast going through everyone’s entries and seeing your take on “minifigures in love”!
It was really tough to judge this year’s competition and the competition was extra tight. I went through the shortlist of winners multiple times, which was not easy in the slightest!
After much deliberation, please join me in congratulating Jess Hume for her hilarious entry…
Really loved how funny this photo turned out, and what really made this photo stand out was the two rubber ducky floats kissing as well, which I thought was a subtle yet brilliant touch.
Congrats Jess! In addition to this year’s Valentine’s Bee Brickheadz set, you’ve also won 2 minifigures that I love from my personal collection – Banana Suit Guy and Hot Dog Guy!
The two runner-ups are Thijs Rushworth and Emily Moon!
Really love how well Thijs’ shot came out, with plenty of pink and the excellent use of Ariel’s hairpiece. Don’t ask me how she fits her hair under her Stormtrooper helmet.
You’ve won a Shark Suit Guy and a Unicorn Girl minifigure!

After fulfilling his service for the First Order, the ‘chicken walker’ has travelled across a galaxy from far, far away to reach the little lego hen of his dreams, and are sharing their reunion with a well deserved valentines picnic; feeling rather peckish from the journey 🙂
Really loved how cute this photo was and the pairing up of a Chicken Walker aka AT-ST and Chicken Suit Guy on a picnic. I also appreciate fantastic puns!
You’ve won a Shark Suit Guy and Tiger Girl minifigure!
Lastly, to try out something new this year, I also had a category for under-12s which also attracted some brilliant entries.
Congratulations Harmony (aged 7) for this quaint photo of Shaggy and his date, Misako from the LEGO Ninjago Movie! Love the little details and a delectable picnic!
You’ve won a Hot Dog Guy and Shark Suit Guy minifigure!
Congrats again to all winners for the fantastic entries! I’ll be in touch soon via email to arrange the delivery of prizes!
Here are the honourable mentions this year! I had such a good time going through all the entries and seeing everyone’s sense of humour and creativity on display! Thanks again to everyone for entering!
This was such fun and I’ll certainly try to hold more photo competitions throughout the year!
This was one of my favourites and a close contender for Under-12s thanks to the adorable story that accompanied it.

“Being an adult fan of lego, we made these two mini figures to represent us and travel along with them to capture memories. Both are wearing lab coat as we first met in laboratory. This photo was taken in Dec 2016 @ Santorini. It is my childhood dream place. My husband used these two mini figures to propose to me. A lego flower bouquet and a lego ring means so much to me”
Really amazing and heartwarming story, thanks for sharing this with me!

PS, I’m a big admirer of Dortmund! Have to say that the EPL is so much more entertaining with Klopp in it.

Last but not least, this hilarious entry by Braden M!
Hope you enjoyed these entries! Thanks again for everyone who joined, this was really fun and I’ll totally throw another competition next year for Vday, so start planning!
These are all so fantastic omg
Should have done one. Can’t keep putting these things off.
There’s always next time! Look out for the next photo challenge near April!
Good to know there’s going to be more photo comps, seeing as I kept saying ” I’ll do it tomorrow ” And never did. ( Also will brickheadz be acceptable? ( and will I be able to send you a little joke entry late?))
As a career-proscrastinator, I know that feeling all too well. I might do a Brickheadz one, especially when they release the “blank template” one later this year. Sure, just send the joke entry and I’ll add it here!
Good entries everyone and congrats to the winners! Damn, I had no time… I wanted to join. Oh well, I’m single anyway XD
join the next one! Also, being single means more time for LEGO 😉
Congrats to the winners! Also thanks for showing my entry!!
Yours was really cool!
thanks!
Thanks for entering!
That Minecraft one was a 1st place entry. Very well done.
It was SO close to being shortlisted.
