Join the Valentine’s Day 2018 photo competition!

February 9, 2018 By Jay 14 Comments

Valentine’s Day is this Wednesday! Some people love the holiday whereas some people absolutely hate how commercialised and manufactured it is.

Whichever side you fall on, we can probably all agree that we LOVE LEGO. I mean, that’s what you’re here for right?

To celebrate the occasion and giveaway gifts to those I love (you, because you’re reading this), I’m bringing back a popular giveaway I ran in 2016!

Up for grabs this year, is this year’s seasonal Brickheadz, 40270 Valentine’s Bee! The winner will receive 1x copy of a set, and 2 surprise minifigures from my personal collection.

There will also be 2 runner-ups, who will each receive 2x surprise minifigures from my personal collection and a prize for under-12s as well, who will also receive 2x surprise minifigures.

All you have to do is take a photo of a two minifigures that are “in love” and send it to jaysbrickblog@gmail.com with the subject title VDAY2018 and include your name and a brief description of the LEGO couple. Entries close at 1:00pm (AEST), Tuesday, 13 February 2018. Here’s a countdown link.

For those that want to join the under-12 category, or if you’re entering on behalf of your kids, please include your age as well.

This competition is open worldwide as long as your country can receive mail. Sorry, North Koreans!

One entry per person!

I’ll select the winner that best encapsulates the spirit of Valentine’s Day, so be as creative or as humorous as possible!

If you want some inspiration, check out entries from the 2016 giveaway – I have very fond memories of seeing all your photos from 2016 and I am looking forward to what you guys come up with this year!

The winners will be announced on Valentine’s Day!

Aw… I would love to enter, but my mum doesn’t trust anyone, which means no competition entering. Oh well, I’m going to enter Lego’s Ninjago rebrick stopmotion competition anyway. Hopefully I win, I think I’m pretty good at making brick films now!

Happy International @LEGO Day! The 28th of Januar Happy International @LEGO Day!

The 28th of January commemorates the date where the first patent for the iconic LEGO brick was filed with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office in Denmark by then-owner Godtfred Kirk Christiansen.

Here's a photo of the patent which is on display in the history section of the @legohouse, which I got to see last year when I visited Billund!

There's tons of incredible historical artifacts, and I've also shared some other displays that commemorated this part of LEGO's history!
