Valentine’s Day Giveaway – Win a copy of the 2016 Valentine’s Day Seasonal Set!

February 10, 2016 By Jay 17 Comments

Valentines Day Giveaway Feature Image

In case it slipped your mind, Valentine’s Day is this Sunday! Whether or not you choose to commemorate one of the world’s most commercialised holidays, you can’t deny that love will be all around as we approach Valentine’s Day 2016!

Last year, to observe what is supposedly the most romantic day of the year, I took photographs of 14 minifigure couples quite a bit of fun!

Valentines Day Giveaway 2016

This year, I want to be all mushy and sentimental with one lucky reader! Since Valentine’s Day is all about gifts, I’m giving away ONE (1) copy of this year’s seasonal set – 40201 Valentine’s Cupid Dog. This adorable brick-built animal is currently sold out online and will most likely not be available for purchase ever again.

All you have to do is take a photo of two minifigures that are “in love” and send it to jaysbrickblog@gmail.com with the subject title VDAY before 11:59pm (AEST), 14 February 2016! I’ll pick the one that best captures the essence of Valentine’s Day best and announce it on the 15th of February!

Edit: Please also add in your country of residence in the email, thanks!

As the box is fairly large and expensive to post, I’ll be limiting entries to Australian residents only for this giveaway! Fret not, international readers, you can still join the giveaway. I’ll be giving out 1x random mystery minifigure to an international reader as they’re easier to post!

Looking forward to seeing some really creative (and mushy) entries! I’ll be featuring some of my favourites in the post as well. Please mention in the email if you don’t want your entries to be featured!

Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with. Love you guys! <3

Does it specifically have to be minifigure?

Anything goes but they have to have some sort of minifig (or reference to it) in it.

My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 C My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 Clone Commander Cody is up, and here's a closer look at some of the details.

They both will be released on 1 March 2023, and will retail for US$69.99 / AU$99.99 / £59.99 and can be pre-ordered now.

I think both helmets are excellent additions to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Clone Trooper helmets translate incredibly well, and there are some masterful sculpting techniques and great use of negative space to get the look just right.

I have to say that I much prefer Commander Cody out of the two, because of the 212th's orange markings, and cool features like the visor and fin. Captain Rex, while having some cutting-edge building techniques have some really poorly colour-match stickers which distract from the otherwise great build.

Will you be planning on picking any of these up?

Special thanks to @lego for sending these early review sets over!
