September is almost here, and with it, we have a small-ish (but pricey) selection of new LEGO sets being released, with plenty of seasonal sets as we head into the holiday/winter months in the Northern Hemisphere.
September will see the launch of the highly anticipated next instalment of LEGO Ideas, 21335 Motorised Lighthouse, as well as the massive 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition, which actually go on sale on 31 August 2022.
Other notable releases are of the seasonal variety, with the 2022 Advent Calendars going on sale, as well as smaller builds like 40573 Christmas Tree, 40572 Penguin & Snowflake, 40571 Wintertime Polar Bears and even the Duplo 10976 Santa’s Gingerbread House for younger builders. (Note: Seasonal sets go on sale in October for North America)
Elsewhere, for Spider-man fans, a trio of Miles Morales, Spider-Man and Venom figures also go on sale.
And lastly, for Minifigure fans, LEGO Minifigures Series 23 officially goes on sale from 1 September onwards. Unfortunately for those of us in Australia and New Zealand, these will release in October, a month after everyone else gets them.
To help you navigate and check out all the new LEGO releases in September 2022, here’s a comprehensive shopping guide to all the new LEGO sets available soon!

LEGO September 2022 Gifts with Purchase (GWPs)

In the UK and Europe, 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute will be making a return when you spend £120 or more on LEGO.com from 5-11 September 2022.

Availability and dates have not been confirmed yet, but it’s a safe bet to expect the new 40578 Sandwich Shop GWP to become available around mid-September. Currently, it’s only been confirmed for Japan.

This isn’t technically a GWP, but this deliciously retro tin LEGO Lunchbox will be available to LEGO VIP members on 1 September 2022, and will be redeemable for 2,500 VIP points.
A great place to store minifigures, or put on display with an iconic retro LEGO advertisement!

21335 Motorised Lighthouse – 1 September 2022

In September, 21335 Motorized Lighthouse becomes the 43rd LEGO Ideas set, and goes on sale, offering to illuminate your LEGO collection with one of the most aesthetically pleasing LEGO sets of 2022.
As its name suggests, the Lighthouse is motorised, and thanks to an ingenious new Fresnel lens element, works like a charm. Despite its high pricetag (because of all the Powered Up elements), it’s a sight to behold, and an incredible display piece.

Hmm, would 40578 Sandwich Shop include the return of the Classic Green bicycle, or is it the Bright Green bicycle that appeared in the Seinfeld set, recently? It’s a bit hard to tell from the promotional image, but maybe a Bright Green bicycle would be the most likely.
Seems like it’s Bright Green. I can’t imagine there being a good business case to have 2 similarly shaded bicycles in production at the same time.
Thank you for providing these lists. It saves quite a bit of time – links to both Lego and reviews are on-hand.
New sets are too expensive sadly. The sandwich shop GWP looks interesting. The lunchbox being only 2500 points is a bit of a surprise; it feels quite low.
Yes I know they so pricey these days! I always find the department store sales can be the best times to buy
You’re most welcome, happy to help! It’s also helpful for me to keep track with what’s coming out, as these things are sometimes announced/revealed months ahead of time!
Thanks 😊 for sharing info on new releases. We are going to Lego store at Disney Springs today. My 17 year old and I consider this son/mother quality time. Since his dad and I pay for most of the sets we are always looking for deals and ways to save. This helps with his autism building up his fine motor skills!
That’s so great, hope you managed to pick up some awesome sets. Building LEGO also helps me relax and deal with stress, so I’m glad that you and your 17 year old are also finding value in play!
Looking forward to the lighthouse which will look like one to get in early for, Thank you Jay for constantly being on the ball with new releases.
The guardians advent calendar looks cool too
Cheers, I’m so happy to help. Hope you enjoy the Lighthouse!
