Need more LEGO Star Wars in your life? Think the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special deserves a sequel?

LEGO and Disney+ have you sorted with today’s debut of the trailer for the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which debuts on Disney+ on 17 November 2020.

“The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day. Rey sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force.

At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

There’s a lot going on here, with the Prequels, Original Trilogy, Sequels and even The Mandalorian all colliding in what seems to be a wacky holiday celebration of all things Star Wars.

Some really cool scenes highlighted in the trailer include Rey wielding her new yellow lightsaber that we saw at the end of The Last Skywalker.

All in all, I’m looking forward to this – it looks like a fun family-friendly romp across the Star Wars universe, and any new Star Wars content on Disney+ is always a huge, uh, plus.

Whether or not the movie is canon or not…. now that’ll be an interesting point of discussion! The original Holiday Special is considered canon, so…
