Get set, LEGO Double VIP points is back in late February!

February 22, 2022 By Jay Ong 5 Comments

Save the date and mark your calendars, because LEGO have just confirmed that we’re going to get our first LEGO Double VIP point event of 2022!

Update: There seems to be some conflicting information that has come to light – it looks like North America (Canada and the US) will be getting their Double VIP points event from 12-14 March 2022.

All purchases on LEGO.com will receive Double VIP Points from 24-28 February on the AUS and UK stores.

It’s a great time to pounce on all the new January or February new releases, especially some of the big ticket items like the 10297 Boutique Hotel modular, 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone or 21332 Globe.

That said, the March 2022 release slate is absolutely stacked… so you may want to hold off. I’ll be creating a March 2022 LEGO release guide soon, so look out for it! There may also be a GWP in early March according to rumours, so be sure to plan your purchases accordingly!

Huge thanks to Wade Davey for the heads up, and for sharing the email which should land in your inboxes.

What are LEGO VIP Points?

If you’re new to LEGO, or purchasing from LEGO.com, each dollar earns you VIP points, that you can either redeem for exclusive rewards or cash back on future LEGO purchases. It’s free to sign up for, and it’s a small bonus for shopping directly from LEGO!

Looks like a good opportunity to pick up some items in Pick a Brick / Bricks & Pieces. Smaller purchases that accrue double points, while leaving some bigger sets for potential GWPs.

I just got an email with this in it? I’m in Canada. So I wonder what the correct dates are. Seems odd they would schedule two events so close.

Double VIP Points are coming! On all LEGO® purchases from 03.12-03.14.

Annoying that this is ending one day before the march releases. There’s a couple I wanted to pick up

Yeah I agree but I think these are always planned this way. They won’t have a double-VIP on a schedule overlapping with a major release time. Very often the new in-demand sets will sell their initial allocation in the first day or two anyway, so for people that really want them *now*, ordering on day1 is the only way. They come back in stock later (sometimes months later) and you still have a chance to pick up on a double-VIP event then. I can see it makes sense from the business point-of-view.

I still have some major sets I wanted to get from the last year that I haven’t picked up yet, so will probably get at least a few things during the event. I’m glad for getting the advanced notice.

Did you know that Fiona, the @lego Friends florist Did you know that Fiona, the @lego Friends florist is one of the first minidolls depicted with Down Syndrome?

Fiona works at the flower stall on Unity Street from 41732 Friends Downtown Flower and Design Stores

She is described as being 'good at crafts and decorating, and knows all the flower species by name.'

It's World Down Syndrome Day today and I think it's remarkable and very important for LEGO to enhance the perspectives of children on neurodiversity, physical disabilities, ethnicity and mental health, as they've done with the LEGO Friends reboot.

Here's my review of one of the most anticipate @LE Here's my review of one of the most anticipate @LEGO Disney sets - 43217 'Up' House ahead of its release on 1 April 2023!

This set is a dream come true for many Pixar fans, and we finally get a cute, compact and great looking Up House.

It has plenty of references to the movie, and Carl's everlasting love of Ellie, his late-wife which will absolutely delight fans.

Despite a strong lineup of minifigures (including an awesome Dug mould), the set's incredibly expensive pricetag (US$59.99/AU$89.99) doesn't feel like good value, especially with Kevin nowhere to be found.

Here's my editorial on LEGO 2K Drive, and why you should be extremely wary of 2K's well-documented and aggressive microtransaction game design philosophy. Wanted to wait a few days to properly digest this as modern video games aren't my forte, but here's a cautionary article. Surprised that not many other LEGO media commented or did any research into 2K's reputation, or the potential impact that microtransactions and season passes could have on what looks like a really fun game. ...
