There’s a lot to be excited about here, and I think this is one of the finest LEGO Harry Potter waves ever released – there are so many fan favourite characters introduced as minifigures – Kreacher (!!), Mafalda Hopkirk, Albert Runcorn, and Reg & Mary Cattermole, Corban Yaxley as well as the updated versions of characters like Lupin in Werewolf form, and Tonks with her pink hair.
There are also plenty of animal moulds such as the return of Thestrals, including a baby version, baby Fawkes (lol, as a little red bird), Sirius in his animagus dog form, and even a Cat Patronus
More importantly, aside from key scenes from some of the latter movies like Prisoner of Azkaban, and Goblet of Fire, we get settings from the Deathly Hallows and Order of the Phoenix.
I cannot explain how happy I am that we’re FINALLY getting 12 Grimauld Place (which has a mechanical play feature that pops out!), AND Ministry of Magic for the very first time. Not to mention a very excellent Shrieking Shack which has been WAY overdue.
That said, the ONE set I’ll be rushing out to buy on Day One is 76404 Hungarian Horntail Dragon, is an enormous and highly detailed display model, complete with its own stand.
It looks stunning at this scale, and is my number #1 pick from this entire wave, which is crazy considering how jam-packed it is with great sets.
Price-wise, some of these are quite pricey, but I’m thankful that there hasn’t been any huge increase in prices, which is a good sign that LEGO is holding off on jacking up their prices thanks to inflation. The Hungarian Horntail for less than US$50, and Shrieking Shack and Ministry of Magic being under US$100 is also a very pleasant surprise.
What a fantastic wave, and I’m so happy on behalf of all LEGO Harry Potter fans!

Cool sets but 12 GRIMMAULD PLACE is expensive in Australia
Jay says
Thank goodness we get regular LEGO sales.
Henry says
Amazing sets! Well some of them. I’m most excited for The Shrieking Shack and 12 Grimauld Place. The ministry looks unfinished and some of them (the Hogwarts expansions) are overpricing for what we’re getting. Getting the older sets atm.
Jay says
Same – the last batch of Harry Potter sets were deeply discounted in Australia, so I think if you can wait, you can snag some of these at a good price closer to Black Friday/Christmas
Alexej says
Dobrý deň ale lega Harry Potter plánujete dať budúci rok 2023?
Håkan says
Príliš skoro.
Håkan says
That Sirius Black minifigure is amazing. I might try to snag the head and hairpiece separately…
Jay says
Yes! So much love for Sirius, and I’m glad we finally get a “normal” version. Lots of Sirius love in this wave!
Joshall says
These are pretty small sets. I thought I read somewhere there is supposed to be a really large HP set this year?

Ok, been waiting for more sets!! And these look awesome! I would even think of getting 2 MoM sets to try my hand at a MOC! (STILL missing GRINGOTTS dang it!) Also like the look of Gimmauld and the Shack. And D’s office for the Castle of course! Big investment that I’ll have to spread out over time.
Eric says
It’s interesting they aren’t releasing Fantastic Beasts sets? But the minifigures, like Lupin as a wolf, are cool. I like carriage and thestrals price point. Lego should do more mini sets. The Dragon is cool. Very similar to the model of Dumbledores phoenix.
Sally says
Fantastic Beasts sucks beast balls. It needs to go away.
Jay says
Eh, I’d love a Magical Congress of the United States of America set.
The world-building was excellent… Writing and acting, eh, not so much.
