Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage will be your next LEGO Ideas set, passing the 3rd 2021 review round!

July 12, 2022 By Jay Ong 47 Comments

The LEGO Ideas team have announced that Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage has been approved, and will be your next LEGO Ideas set!

Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage beat out 35 other product ideas, earning the honour as the next LEGO Ideas set.

The project, submitted by Belgian Fan Designer Amber Veyt fan designer TheAmbrinator, features famous Salem witches: Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson from the 1993 Disney film Hocus Pocus.

The build is pretty neat, and with plenty of details, minifigures and play features, looks set to repeat the success of the LEGO Ideas Home Alone House.

Check out more photos below

I’m really excited about this, and think it’s a fantastic, if a little off-beat move for the LEGO Ideas team – what do you think of?

With Hocus Pocus 2 releasing later this year, this is a solid time to release a LEGO set based on the original movie. I wonder if they will include any of the characters from the sequel as well to try and create a stronger tie-in to the new movie coming out.

Not too sure – LEGO Ideas sets usually take anywhere from 12-16 months to develop, so I’d say sometime in 2023. If I were a betting man, I would say that LEGO would align this with Halloween given the theme of the set/movie.

Here's my review of 77015 Temple of the Golden Ido Here's my review of 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol, ahead of the triumphant return of LEGO Indiana Jones in April 2023!

77015 Temple of the Golden Idol is a marvel of LEGO design, and a huge leap forward for adult-focused sets that make play features an integral part of the set experience.

For fans of LEGO Indiana Jones, this is an excellent demonstration of what’s possible when given the adults/LEGO Icons treatment, bringing to life one of the most iconic scenes and character introductions in history.

What’s truly remarkable about this set is how it integrates both being an attractive display piece with play functions that augment the entire experience. As a diorama, all the key scenes from the opening scene of Raiders are captured, allowing you to place the minifigures in different spots to re-enact your favourite moments from the Temple of the Golden Idol.

It's a kid-friendly series so it makes perfect sense for LEGO to also release a kid-friendly 4+ set.

The set has 124 pieces and comes with 3 minifigures - Master Yoda, Lys Solay and Kai Brightstar. Young Jedi Adventures is set during the High Republic era, so it's neat to get a young Yoda and new alien species.

It's priced at US$39.99 / AU$64.99 / €42.99 / £37.99 / CAD$49.99 which is a little crazy for a set aimed at really young kids.

Was looking for a home to display the @lego Disney Up House and decided that it looks pretty good alongside the mini Disney Castle.

There's a bit of a size-imbalance, but they have a similar footprint, and again, I like how compact both sets are which makes displaying a breeze.

Fiona works at the flower stall on Unity Street from 41732 Friends Downtown Flower and Design Stores

She is described as being 'good at crafts and decorating, and knows all the flower species by name.'
