UPDATE: This article is not accurate any longer. See this post for the full update, but Bandmates Series 2 has now shown up on the Australian and New Zealand Online Shop, and is now available to be purchased.
Update 2: It’s now the 1st of October in the UK and Europe and Bandmates Series 2 is also available for purchase in the United Kingdom. It’s safe to assume that they’ll also be available in the US when they tick over to October.
Well bad news for anyone looking forward to LEGO Vidiyo Bandmates Series 2 – for all intents and purposes, is now cancelled – at least in Australia and New Zealand.
I’m still waiting to hear from LEGO directly on other countries, but with the Bandmates Series 2 product page coming up as blank in North America, Europe and nearly every other region – I would expect to not see Bandmates Series 2 until Vidiyo gets rebooted.
Following a flurry of rumours online that LEGO Vidiyo Bandmates Series 2 had been cancelled, I reached out to LEGO Australia for details of availability in Australia and New Zealand, and can now confirm that we will NOT be getting Bandmates series 2.
Here’s the response I got:
They won’t be available to purchase across ANZ including online. Stay tuned for more in 2022 though.

Personally, this is quite disappointing, as LEGO had previously indicated that the rest of the Vidiyo 2021 releases would go on as planned = something that they’ve now back-pedaled.
It does make sense – with LEGO Vidiyo undergoing a reboot, they probably decided that it wasn’t worth it to invest resources into an app update, that would’ve incorporated these 12 new characters into the existing functionality and gameplay – which is probably the best commercial move as I’d doubt they’d sell, given how poorly they’ve been doing at retail.

While the app and theme were flops, the Vidiyo minifigures had great designs, with all sorts of wacky moulds and designs, and this is extra bad news for those of us that enjoyed Bandmates Series 1.
DJ Beatbox Dragon Guitarist Slime Singer
Bad news if you were like me, and looking forward to getting the Beatbox minifigure, awesome blue Dragon Guitarist, or the Slime Singer.
That said, Vidiyo has been cursed and terrible since Day One, so hopefully this doesn’t mean the end of Bandmates, and that they’ll be delayed until 2022 when Vidiyo will resurface, hopefully as a better overall experience.
For more on the demise of the LEGO Vidiyo theme, check out this post to find out why LEGO decided to prematurely end the theme early, ahead of a reset.
What do you think? Were you looking forward to Bandmates Series 2?

There are some very cool unique Pieces.
In Germany the Lego Brand Stores will have them starting 1st of October.
So there surely will be enough 2nd Market offers later the Year.
Fingers crossed! I’m eagerly awaiting for my pack to arrive!
Hmm, I had hopes that a bunch of the theme’s pieces would come up separately on Lego Bricks And Pieces, as had happened with Series 1. Several of the parts would work well in sci fi-fantasy settings such as a Transgalactical Space Base or a Cyberpunk Mega-City….
Bummer. I wasn’t into Vidiyo initially, but I bought lots when the prices reduced and I like them. The new minifigures look great. Oh well.
Yeah same here – the minifigures have been really special. It’s such a shame, because at the right price, and with the right support from LEGO, this could’ve been a really fun theme.
