As a fan of the classics, and LEGO Castle in particular, this set was an absolute dream to build and display, with 21 minifigures, advanced building techniques, highly detailed interiors that all come together to create an awe-inspiring display model that’s one of my favourite sets of 2022 if ever.
Check out my review of 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle or some of my favourite photos of the set below, of what I think is THE definitive LEGO Castle.

I can confirm Jay that there was a mountain of stock at all LCS’s I had a look at in Melbourne. Picked my set up from them yesterday and BOY! It’s a whopper! No gift on top of the set though so I’ve shelled out the $600 for no benefit beyond VIP points I can only use at the LCS in future.
I’m also glad I forked out a bit extra for the Forestmen hideout as it looks like I missed out on that anyway!
Already on back order in Australia. It’s a must-buy, but it’s also really expensive. I’ll probably wait until it’s on Amazon or there’s a promotion needing such a high purchase. There’s not really any benefits to ordering early as a VIP unless you really, really want it — there’s no discount or special gift involved.
Surprised how quickly it went. Apparently it didn’t last 5 minutes?
My suspicion is that LEGO diverted most of the stock to the LCS, as they seem to have plenty of availability.
No Forest Hideout in Australia and my midnight order went straight to backordered and expect delivery 25/8. I wonder if I should have tried my luck at an actual store instead. Was so excited for this set, the AT-TE walker & BD-1 but end up only BD-1 was readily available. The AT-TE walker is waiting for stock with no date.
Yeah, AT-TE is delayed I believed. The LCS website has it arriving on 17 August, so maybe it’ll pop up again then.
As for the Forest Hideout GWP, it looks like LEGO diverted their stock to the LCS… so it seems like they’re pushing hard for customers to head in-store.
Ended up cancelled my castle order on the official site and did Click and Collect at the Melbourne Central store. No GWP or anything. I know we all buy Lego set for what they are but to folk out $600 with not an ounce of fan fair is a bit underwhelming tbh.
For the AT-TE, I can’t even cancelled my order because I bought it with the BD-1 and that got shipped. So hopefully they’ll get stock soon. It’s worrying though that they got expected dispatched day for the castle but no date at all for the AT-TE.
Haha, as soon as I put up this reply. My AT-TE has got an expected dispatch date of 5/8 (Today!) but will only celebrate when I see the box.
But no Forest Hideout August GWP for Australia. It seems we only got the August 1st price hike (and a tote bag?!).
Looks like all the Forest Hideout GWPs were diverted in-store… So bad news for us.
There were none in store when i went yesterday at 3pm so if they had any, they’re gone :/
Jay,
What is with Lego Australia at the moment? Seems like Australia is on their naughty list… No Forest Hideout GWP available (nothing available certainly in store in Melbourne on 3 Aug and nothing online that I saw, no Pirates and Treasure VIP add-on, the Lego/Disney+ Summer Vacation special is out in the US and other markets but delayed until late Sept release here. I am just not feeling the love from them this year.
That said I bought the Lion Knights Castle and my son and I are looking forward to putting it together this weekend.
