LEGO 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter VS TIE Interceptor revealed!

Thanks to European retailer Brickshop, we now have our very first look at 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter VS TIE Interceptor, which will be released on 1 May 2023, just in time for the May the 4th 2023 promos.

Update: The product page is now available on LEGO.com, giving us better quality photos!

75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter VS TIE InterceptorUS$99.99 / AU$159.99 / £89.99 / €99.99 / CAD$129.99

The set isn’t up on LEGO.com just yet, but this has been one of LEGO’s worst kept secrets as many fans have already found them for sale in Target in the US, where it’s already been on sale for US$99.99.

The set includes a Mandalorian Fang Fighter, which appears prominently in the 3rd season of The Mandalorian, being pursued by a TIE Interceptor.

The TIE Interceptor is a neat highlight as well, as we haven’t gotten a minifigure-scale TIE Interceptor since 2006, which is a really long-absence for such a key Imperial ship.

The set comes with 4 minifigures – The Mandalorian, Mandalorian Fleet Commander, TIE Fighter Pilot and an evil-looking all-black R2-E6, an Imperial Astromech droid.

Din Djarin also comes with his snazzy new LEGO Darksaber, something that LEGO fans have been waiting ages for!

At US$99.99, this is a decently-priced set, as the ships are quite sizeable, and I like that you get two of them together, which helps bump the playability of the set.

Swooshing LEGO Star Wars ships is always better in pairs, or with a friend.

We should get a proper reveal on LEGO.com soon, but this is the final piece of the 2023 May the 4th puzzle, and you can begin finalising your purchase plans to make the most of all the 2023 LEGO Star Wars Day offers and promotions.

  1. Andrew Gillespie says:

So the fangs wings don’t rotate around the fuselage like the Gauntlet transport does? That’s a shame, they’re suppose to.

  2. Zachary Maness says:

Does anyone else feel like the other Mandalorian looks like Axe Wolves? The fact that he even comes with the face and hair seems like he is not a generic Mandalorian. But also I feel like they would use his name in that case, instead of just fleet commander.

  3. Joshua Holmes says:

I don’t remember this ship in Season 3. Can you find it?

    • Zachary Maness says:

That would be on Nevarro/Mandalore as the primary dogfight ships. They look similar to the gauntlets, which are the larger, deploying ships. They can be hard to tell the difference sometimes. Hope this helps

  4. Luis Acevedo says:

The Fang ship not being able to fold up is a major design flaw. It’s kind of cringe for me.

    • Cam says:

In universe the fang Fighter doesn’t fold, it only rotates (which this model doesn’t do either) The Fang Fighter isn’t actually seen except in the background of one shot at the end of the season, but that’s what we get when Lego can only work with concept art

    • Oliver says:

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought it was the legends/non canon version that can do that. All modern forms of it are rigid I thought. \_(‘-’)_/

      • Pete says:

I think in rebels it was shown the wings can at least spin? I’ll have to rewatch, but I know the Gauntlet fighter/drop ships can fold and spin, though

  5. jawj says:

Nice write-up! Thanks for the news.
Does 75240 Major Vonreg’s TIE Fighter count as the most recent TIE Interceptor…?

  6. Alex says:

Really looking forward to this, but the Fang fighter *never* showed up in season 3 of the Mandalorian. Apart from Imperial ships and Din Djarin’s N1 we only see the Mandalorians flying Kom’rk class fighters, also known as Gauntlets. They are basically dropships and fighters in one, and quite a bit larger than the Fang fighter. That said, it looks good, but the main draw here is the TIE Interceptor which looks amazing!

    • James says:

Fang fighters can be briefly seen during a shot of the fleet, but apart from that never played any role whatsoever in the series. Which is disappointing, and this set helps suggest that there was going to be a space battle originally but it was cut for some reason or other
