LEGO 76216 Iron Man Armoury revealed, with all-new Iron Man helmet designs for 2022!

May 3, 2022 By Jay 6 Comments

After yesterday’s 76217 I Am Groot reveal, LEGO.com have unveiled another new Marvel set this one for the Iron Man fans with a refreshed 76216 Iron Man Armoury, slated for a 1 June 2022 release worldwide.

Not sure if we needed a new Hall of Armour type set as 76125 Iron Man Hall of Armour only just retired a few months ago, but LEGO have thrown in a generous helping of minifigures, and also introduced, for the very first time, Iron Man 2 villain Whiplash as a minifigure.

  • 76216 Iron Man Armoury [US] – US$89.99
  • 76216 Iron Man Armoury [AUS] – AU$149.99
  • 76216 Iron Man Armoury [UK] – £TBD
  • 76216 Iron Man Armoury [EU] – €89.99
  • 76216 Iron Man Armoury [CA] – CAD$119.99

Iron Man fans and completionists are going to love this set, as it’s a really complete set, with plenty of cool features like new Iron Man armor, as well as printed glass elements and display panels to complete the look.

The set includes 8 minifigures, and no surplus baddies – these are all main characters or new armour (L-R) Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Nick Fury, War Machine, MK3, MK85 and MK25 Iron Man suits, and Whiplash.

Interestingly (or frustratingly?), LEGO are debuting a brand new Iron Man helmet, which from the looks of the official photos, brings back the flip up mash, with a few moulding enhancements to make the face look smoother, with more detailed printing.

I’m not 100% sure if these will be compatible with the old masks, but look out for my review soon once I have the set in hand!

Additionally, a car is also included in the set – I’m not 100% sure if it’s an Audi R8 Spyder that we see Tony Stark zipping around the movies with, but it’s a fun little addition that adds a bit more playability to the set.

If you missed out on previous Hall of Armour sets, this is a great way to get you up to speed, and you also get the bonus of receiving the latest and greatest Iron Man suits as well, but, and it’s great to finally see Whiplash as a minifigure!

Are you a Marvel or Iron Man fan? Will you be adding this set to your collection?

I can’t believe they didn’t do a set from Spiderman No Way Home with the 3 Spidey’s and multiple villians.

I know right? I’m hoping they still will. They released more accurate endgame sets a year later. I think it was to keep spoilers down, especially because Lego spoiled Giant Man at the airport battle for Civil War.

Helmets do rather look like fake Lego but will probably pick it up.

Seems way overpriced compared to the previous set. The previous set had 3 exclusive suits that were not available in other sets. This one has two suits that are available currently, has less pieces and costs more. I know it has 8 minifigures instead of 6, but 20 more dollars than the previous makes this an easy pass.

Raising the next generation of @lego Castle fans 🏰

Nothing makes me happier than seeing @little.ongs play with 10305 Lion Knights' Castle, which I've conveniently left in an easy to access spot in the house.

While yes, this set is big and meant for adults, the playability and story-telling is so native to kids that it's a great set to share with your kids if you have any.

👑 Having THE definitive LEGO Castle being ruled by Queen Lionne also sends a great message to little girls and a fantastic celebration of #lego90years

10305 Lion Knights' Castle launches today for VIPs and if you're lucky enough to be in the position to pick one up, I hope you enjoy and savour every moment of the build of what is quite possibly my favourite set of 2022.
