LEGO 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk revealed!

December 1, 2021 By Jay 1 Comment

LEGO have just magicked a new 2022 LEGO Harry Potter set into existence, with a surprise reveal of 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk on Instagram!

The Hogwarts Magical Trunk features a fully customisable magic trunk, which you can decorate with your favourite house colours, and comes with a great selection of Hogwarts students, with torsos from all four houses – Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Hufflepuff.

There isn’t pricing and an official release date yet, but I anticipate that this will be available on 1 January 2022.

Update: the release date has been confirmed as 1 March 2022 globally, so there’ll be a bit of a wait for this one!

See below for regional pricing:

  • 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk [US] – US$59.99
  • 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk [AU] – AU$89.99
  • 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk [UK] – £54.99
  • 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk [DE] – €59.99
  • 76399 Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Trunk [CA] – CAD$79.99

Using an array of tiles, you are able to decorate the exterior of the trunk, and there’s also a key and keychain element bearing the Hogwarts crest, which unlocks the suitcase..

To reveal an expanded interiors, which you can also customise, building different rooms, and scenes from Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall is featured in parts of the video, but is absent from the final frame, so I’m not 100% sure if she’s included in the set..

This looks like a really fun open-ended toy, and you are given the tools and elements such as cauldrons, spellbooks, and also furniture.

Lots of stickers are used to bring these decorations to life, but this looks like a really fun build that will appeal to LEGO Harry Potter fans, no matter what House you get sorted into.

A pretty interesting set, and I love how much it encourages creativity, and for once, also celebrates “lesser” houses like Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw which have traditionally been sidelined in LEGO Harry Potter sets.
