LEGO April 2022 new release guide

March 31, 2022 By Jay Ong 4 Comments

A new month means new LEGO sets, and April 2022 is filled with a ton of exciting new releases… with a catch.

Most of the new April 2022 sets are either releasing mid-month, or the end of the month, allowing you some breathing room to save, and plan your purchases out.

It’s a little odd, considering the first of each month is usually when most new sets get launched, but the global logistics and supply chain issues probably isn’t making things easy for LEGO.

The big ticket item for April 2022 (that we know off so far) is the 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine which should go up online at the stroke of midnight in your local time zone.

With so few sets being released, I would not hesitate on the LEGO Back to the Future Delorean, as I expect it to sell out incredibly quickly, so be quick if you want to secure a set!

Potential April LEGO Delays in Australia

Here in Australia, word on the street, and online is a large number of highly anticipated April 2022 releases, will likely be delayed. There are some concerning signs, as LEGO’s Certified Store website has the Delorean listed as available on the 5th of April, and Marvel Mechs as 1st of May.

On LEGO.com, 76956 T. rex Breakout has had its Australian release date shifted to 6 May 2022, and the 75329 Death Star Trench Run Diorama has it shifted to 5 May 2022 (the other diorama release dates are fine).

Not encouraging, and further proof that LEGO is struggling to get sets to Australia on time.

The full list of delayed sets in Australia (and I don’t trust these dates, and reckon they’ll change again) based on LEGO.com dates are:

  • 76219 Spider-Man & Green Goblin Mech Battle – 14 April 2022
  • 76203 Iron Man Mech Armor – 1 June 2022
  • 76956 T. rex Breakout [AUS] – 6 May 2022
  • 75329 Death Star Trench Run Diorama [AU] – 5 May 2022

If you’re planning on ordering these sets from LEGO, please consider clicking through using these affiliate links. I may receive a small commission with each purchase which goes a long way in paying for server costs and general maintenance of the site!

April 2022 LEGO gift with purchase – Easter Chicks

For all purchases made on LEGO.com from 25 March – 16 April, you’ll receive a free Easter-themed gift with purchase – 40527 Easter Chicks when you spend US$65 / AU$139 / £65 on LEGO.com, while stocks last.

LEGO Creator Expert Back to the Future Time Machine – 1 April 2022

The BIG release in April 2022 is without a doubt, the 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine, the newest licensed Creator Expert vehicle that pays homage to the beloved BTTF trilogy.

Featuring a gorgeous upsized Delorean that can transform into the the BTTF 1, 2 and 3 versions, it also comes with brand new variants of Marty McFly and Doc Brown minifigures as well as a display plaque.

Be sure to read my detailed review of the 2022 LEGO BTTF Delorean to see more of the set!

Also, for the gamers and LEGO Star Wars fans, don’t forget that the LEGO Skywalker Saga will be released on 5 May 2022!

Will you be adding any of the April 2022 releases to your collection?

And that’s it for all the April 2022 releases that we know of! It’s the first month of the year without any new LEGO Brickheadz, which I find odd, but knowing LEGO, who knows that else they might have in store for us this month!

I guess Australia’s Lego site won’t be getting the Jane Goodall set? That’s a shame.

Today is the 15th and final day of the Lunar New Y Today is the 15th and final day of the Lunar New Year, also known as Chap Goh Mei (15th night in the Hokkien dialect), Yuan Xiao Jie, Chinese Valentine's Day or the Lantern Festival! 🏮

It marks the end of the Lunar New Year celebrations, and is celebrated in a myriad of ways, such as eating tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) over dinner, and visiting temples to pray good fortune for the coming year.

The celebration was famously depicted in 80107 Spring Lantern Festival, designed by @justinramsden and released in 2020.

Here's my Classic Space take on Chap Goh Mei as we conclude the Lunar New Year festivities!

Happy Chap Goh Mei to everyone celebrating!

Mia is all grown up now! Here's a comparison of Mia is all grown up now!

Here's a comparison of Mia, from her very first minidoll on the left (from 3188 Heartlake Vet), to her last appearance as a teenager in 41717 Mia's Wildlife Rescue, and on the right, as an adult in 41730 Autumn's House!

She's now a mum to Autumn, and it's kinda surreal seeing her grow like this.

FYI: LEGO Friends had a bit of a redesign in 2018, which is why Mia's appearance changed slightly.

For my next @LEGO Friends review, here's a look at For my next @LEGO Friends review, here's a look at 41730 Autumn's House, which features Autumn and Mia's home, a delightfully rustic ranch-style home!

It blends the old and new, with Autumn and a now grown-up Mia, and amazingly, has kept the same US$69.99 price-point as all the other Friends main character houses.

Who knew that Friends character homes were inflation-proof?

Great value-packed set overall, and you can read my full review on the blog via link in bio!

Special thanks to LEGO for sending this review set over!
