LEGO City Summer 2023 sets revealed! The City renaissance is here!

LEGO City is undergoing an incredible transformation, and thanks to JB Spielwaren, we have our very first look at the new Summer 2023 City sets which features a drastic change to how City looks and feels.

Expect the new LEGO City sets to be released on 1 June 2023.

The theme finally feels like a City, with bold and modern architecture on show, with 2,010-piece 60380 Downtown set, the biggest LEGO City set ever, and modern residential sets like 60398 Family House and Electric Car and 60365 Apartment Building, so your LEGO City inhabitants can finally have a place to call home.

We also get a return to Arctic Exploration, a staple of LEGO City with 4 awesome sets which introduce new animals such as an Orca, a seal and baby seal, an adult and baby sea turtle, as well as the return of the Hammerhead Shark mould!

This is hands down the most impressive LEGO City assortment yet, and I absolutely love the new direction that LEGO City has been heading toward. Amazing what happens when you eliminate Crime and Arson, and focus on things like Renewable Energy, and Conservation!

It’s incredible to see what LEGO City’s new Creative Lead, Simon Lucas and his talented team have been able to do with LEGO City!

60362 Car Wash (243 pieces)

60363 Ice-Cream Shop (296 pieces)

60364 Street Skate Park (454 pieces)

60365 Apartment Building (688 pieces)

60366 Ski and Climbing Center (1045 pieces)

60376 Arctic Snowmobile (70 pieces)

60377 Underwater Exploration Ship (182 pieces)

60378 Arctic Explorer Truck & Mobile Lab (489 pieces)

60368 Arctic Explorer Ship (815 pieces)

60379 Deep Sea Submarine (842 pieces)

60380 Downtown (2010 pieces)

60391 Construction Trucks and Wrecking Ball Crane (235 pieces)

    Sir,

Do you have the lego technic model 42129 for sale ?

  2. Drew says:

I agree: LEGO is on fire. So many excellent mid-priced sets!

  3. Max Musial says:

Oooph my wallet, and my kids don’t even like city sets so that’s just for me. Interesting that there seems to be an “exploration” color scheme with the ocean and arctic sets sharing the same pallet.

  4. Philip Ward says:

I like the downtown in lego but it’s a little pricey. Looks good and modern but the price. Come on Lego, it’s a recession.
I like the vibe tho, but I might have to wait for a sale.

  5. Dave says:

That downtown set looks nice but insubstantial, very crystalline – more like a Fraggle Rock Doozer structure than Lego.

It looks cool (and I hope I don’t sound like a NIMBY) but not sure it will be a good match for my old-school Lego city; will have to check it out in real life at the Lego store.

  6. Csb123 says:

Between this set, the upcoming Friends and Dreamerzzz Lego is on fire this summer. The ship with the orca is def on my must get list for my sea creature obsessed four year old (I build it, he plays with it!).

  7. Reader says:

I really like the Arctic Explorers sets. The Explorers subtheme has usually been very interesting. Not sure where that large boat will be kept…

Hope the new sets are more affordable than the previous year’s. There were interesting sets, but a lot were expensive and they were discontinued quickly.

  8. Shelby says:

The arctic deep sea sets are amazing. Def going broke this summer!

  9. dreadbricks says:

What is happening with this Summer Wave? Downtown is so sweet – Lego Friends Community Centre is great too.

I’ve just about got enough money together for Ninjago City Markets and then this happens!

Alongside the fact that I collect the Monkie Kid sets and the new wave is looking beautiful again for that as well.

Might have to wait for the City and Friends ones to go on offer and I hate waiting!!!!!

  10. Fiona says:

Multiple Arctic snowmobiles are worth it just for the seals, particularly the seal pup. I also like that Lego are doing a lot more houses and apartments.

  11. lorraine says:

These look great, nice to see such variety. Mostly collect Friends sets with my daughter, these would fit nicely with those. Could expand liann’s skate park!

  12. Brick HQ says:

This is what Lego city should look like! Less cops and robbers, and more realistic modern houses etc.

    • dreadbrick says:

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen enough Safe’s been broken into in Lego City to last me a lifetime. Lego City and safes and Friends with their toilets

  13. Paul says:

With a big chunk of my LEGO being town, and later City, dating back to early 1980s, some of these above are awesome additions. The first wave of City this year was a bit ho-hum for me but that 60380 Downtown is eye popping. Very much looking forward to this. Thank for the updates Jay.
