Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool! Good news for Community fans, the Community Greendale College project on the LEGO Ideas platform has crossed 10,000 votes, which ensures that it’ll make it to the next review round of LEGO Ideas.
This means that it’ll have a chance at becoming a real LEGO set down the line.
The fan design was submitted by bulldoozer, who you might remember as the fan designer behind the Cosmic Cardboard Adventures GWP, so there’s plenty of LEGO Ideas pedigree here.
Looking at the massive success that is the LEGO Ideas The Office set (now sold out online, and on backorder in Australia), I definitely think that there’s plenty more appetite from fans for more pop culture/TV-based shows.
And with confirmation of an upcoming Community movie on Peacock, I think LEGO will be eyeing the commercial viability of this set, and knowing LEGO’s penchant for aligning sets with movie/TV releases, I think there’s a great chance here.
Bulldoozer’s design has plenty of great callbacks and references to the show, with the Study Room, which is where most of Community happens captured well, with plenty of references thrown in.
There’s references to the epic Paintball episode, with Chang and his Tiger-striped paintball gun.
Troy and Abed in the morning is also here, as expected.
You can check out more photos of LEGO Greendale Community College on the LEGO Ideas page to see more.
I’m a big fan of Community, and I also gave The Office set a glowing review, so I’m definitely in the target audience for this set, and am rooting for the success of the LEGO Greendale Community College set.
It’ll be a while until we find out if Greendale Community College successfully makes it out of the LEGO Ideas review round, so hang tight.
What do you think of LEGO Greendale Community College’s chances of being turned into a LEGO Ideas set?

Make it include every single one of the Dean’s costumes. I need more lego mini figures…
Jay says
Omg that would be brilliant. I’d buy a Dean costume battle pack!

(slowly begins to pull skin off own face at the potential of yet another sitcom-based set)

Just don’t eat it

Looking at how well The Office has been selling, it’s almost inevitable that we’ll get more.

I kinda like the new diorama set of Community Greendale College because it looks very interesting to me, and I really like those LEGO Minifigures who are like different characters in that set.
Andrew says
I get that fans of the shows would love these sets, but Ideas is supposed to be about new ideas for sets that we don’t already have and that Lego might not consider otherwise. These TV show sets are now essentially a theme of their own, and shouldn’t be taking up Ideas slots – they are no linger “ideas” but further examples of an existing genre.
Ben says
it doesn’t super line up with the intended lines, but having this set be more in the 3in1 line would rule.
Parts to build the regular set, floor is lava, paintball, and pillow fort episodes would be amazing.
Also a $700 set realistically…
J.Thunder says
$700?? Are you out of your fucking mind? Name another Lego set that costs that much. And who the hell would pay that much. You must me $70. The Seinfeld set was $80.
Monty says
I’m sorry, but how many of these types of sets do we actually need.
