Update: To see more of the LEGO Creator Medieval Castle, read my review of 31120 Medieval Castle!
Hot off yesterday’s Summer 2021 Creator 3-in-1 reveals, we now have our first look at the upcoming LEGO 31120 Creator Medieval Castle – featuring everyone’s favourite Black Falcon knights, last seen in the Medieval Blacksmith.
The Castle’s primary model features Castle Walls of a keep, with a bright burse of colours to complement the grey towers – it can be folded to create a compact Castle.
Coming in at 1,500 pieces, the Creator Medieval Castle is set for a 1 June 2021 release, and photos were sourced from JB Spielwaren, thanks to a heads up from Brickset.
The set will be available from LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, and most toy stores that carry LEGO. The price is AU$159.99 | US$99.99 | £89.99
In case you missed it, here’s all the other Summer 2021 LEGO sets revealed so far:
- Creator 3-in-1 Medieval Castle
- Creator 3-in-1 Ferris Wheel & Space Shuttle
- LEGO City Safari
- Ninjago Seabound (Season 15) & Legacy
- LEGO Mickey & Friends
- Vidiyo Wave 2 Minifigures
- Vidiyo Wave 2

The other two alternate builds feature a tall tower-like outpost, and a Medieval Fair.

It definitely looks quite modern, and not quite the nostalgic re-creation of 6074 Black Falcon’s Castle that everyone was hoping for (no horses!), but with 3 Creator modes, and plenty of smaller models to build such as the brick-built dragon.
I’m REALLY excited for this, and can’t wait to get this set in-hand for a review, and who knows, maybe a side by side with Black Falcon’s Fortress.
Are you excited for the Creator Black Falcon Castle? Let me know in the comments what you think!
My first reaction was one of disappointment. The dark grey isn’t a color I like in castle sets; I think the light gray looks more accurate. I’m also not a fan of the bright yellow. (Yes, I know these are the Black Falcons, thus the darker colors, and the yellow is homage to the 1986 masterpiece, but none-the-less… ) I dislike the helmets the Falcons are wearing – Lego needs to retire these. The blacksmith belongs in the pirate series, not castle. I do, however, love some of the smaller details, especially falcon – gorgeous! The chickens are always appreciated. The dark blue roof pieces are great, and the browns will definitely be useful. My kids will steal the dragon as soon as I assemble him. Now, if only this set had a horse.
Probably gonna buy two, maybe even three sets and combine them and the Blacksmith and creator Pirate ship into one huge castle. Looking so much forward to it!!!
As an 80’s baby I actually had the Black Falcon’s Castle in the day. Seeing the new version I like it. Crap what I don’t need is more Lego’s that I want.
You guys are mean, it looks spectacular. Keep it up lego.
This looks terrible… They really missed the mark with this one.
This looks awesome!
Why do you say it looks terrible? is it because it doesn’t really resemble the originals that much? I see this range as being like a big budget Hollywood remake of an old 80s low budget TV series, something which is always going to be rather “marmite” (polarising people so that the response is either love it or hate it). Or is it something else?
I have (somewhere) the original castles, so I dont think I’ll bother getting the latest.
I would never presume to tell anyone that they were wrong, so please don’t misunderstand me, as that’s not what I’m saying. It’s just that for *me* the appeal of these new sets, despite owning many of the originals, is the question of “what if” the Lego we loved in 1985 was designed in 2021, or what if we were eight years old now, and our era was brought forward to now? Whilst I still adore the relative simplicity of those sets from my childhood, I also love the more complex ones from now. It’s very much a fusion of the two eras for me.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay😃😃! Castle is back!!!!!
This is very exciting. Quite possibly because I am called “Castle” I took a special interest in these sets in the mid-80s, and they all-but replaced my primary interest in Space and Town after The Black Knight’s Castle was a birthday present when I was 8 years old, in 1985. Robin Of Sherwood was a hit TV series at this time, so that also helped to stir my interest. I have eBayed some of these old sets (starting with the Yellow Castle and moving on to the grey brick ones from my childhood) but shall certainly also buy this new 3in1. It will go very nicely with the Medieval Blacksmith!
Yes! Castle is back!!
I need to make a list of all things I need to buy!
Lego has been boring for years (for me at least)! But now animals in the city, medieval stuff…
Wow!!
I find the “wish list” function on the online Lego shop very useful for this.
You might wanna look into the 3in1 pirate ship, one of the alternate builds is a tavern that would probably fit very well into a medieval town
Standing by for a long awaited return. Next let’s work on the old adventure series. Indiana Jones is coming back!!
There was Indiana Jones Lego?
Yeah there was. There was a theme called adventurers in the 80s and later a licensed indiana jones theme
I’ll have a good look on Brick-link for those. I did find some of the Adventurers on a quick glance, but the ones I saw were from 1998, not the eighties, which does explain why I don’t recall them. I take it the Indiana Jones sets were a tie in to the fourth movie? (Which I never got around to seeing)
I wouldn’t bother with the 4th film!
I would rather say those sets were a link to The Mummy film series.
It was actually a tie in to the last crusade.
