The set is packed with 15 minifigures, which was bound to be the biggest draw of the set: Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly, Ryan Howard, Angela Martin, Oscar Martinez, Kevin Malone, Stanley Hudson, Kelly Kapoor, Phyllis Lapin Vance, Meredith Palmer, Creed Bratton, Toby Flenderson and Darryl Philbin, plus a LEGO figure of Angela’s cat Garbage.
As an added bonus, 12 of the minifigures have dual-sided faces, and I can’t wait to see all their expressions!
As a massive fan of The Office, I’m absolutely delighted that they managed to squeeze nearly every important character in, and 15 characters in a US$120 set is nothing to sneeze at.
That said, the lineup is missing a few of the “newer” core characters like Andy Bernard and Erin Hannon – I guess LEGO wanted to keep it with the OG cast.
The Dunder Mifflin office has been lovingly re-created, so all your favourite spots are here, from the office floor, to the conference room, as well as Michael Scott’s office (which slides out for display on its own).
With so many characters, you can create so many possibilities with re-enacting your favourite scenes and moments from the TV series, such as kindling Pam and Jim’s office romance.
Kevin spilling his famous chilli!
Michael Scott realising he’s joined a pyramid scheme.
If you look behind the whiteboard, you can also see the DVD logo hitting the corner as well!
And of course the many times Michael hosts people in his office.
It’s quite a large set too, measuring over 3 in. (7 cm) high, 12 in. (30 cm) wide and 10 in. (25 cm) deep, and looks fantastic on display alongside the other TV series sets, or on its own.
LEGO have an absolutely smash hit on their hands, and I can’t believe they’ve managed to price it so competitively at US$119.99. This is going to sell like absolute hotcakes, so if you want to secure a copy, I highly recommend pre-ordering on LEGO.com
What do you think of The Office? Does this meet the astronomical levels of hype there was for the set?
