Last of the big reveals from the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2021 is a massive Monkie Kid set – 80035 Galactic Explorer.
Pricing isn’t available yet, but the release date in China has been set for 25 December 2021, and will likely be available worldwide on the 1st of January 2022, along with more Monkie Sets from the 2022 wave.

Its a large (and very swooshable) red and yellow rocket – shaped like a dragon, but also takes colour inspiration from Monkie Kid’s staff.

I really love the rocket launchpag scene – and the set includes MK, Mei, Tang, and what seems to be Macaque. What’s interesting as well is the inclusion of a minifigure-sized Sandy!

Another nice nod to LEGO’s universe, is that the Octan fuel tanks are featured here, with Chinese script! It’s great to know that Octan is also a multinational company with a presence in the Monkie Kid universe.

“shaped like a dragon” Now that just makes me want a full-blown, gigantic Chinese dragon set! XD
I’d LOVE it if they did a full-blown D2C Monkie kid dragon set. It’s only a matter of time, hopefully!
