LEGO reveals two new Return of the Jedi Dioramas – 75352 Emperor’s Throne Room and 75353 Endor Speeder Chase

In addition to the UCS X-Wing, LEGO have also revealed two new Star Wars dioramas celebrating the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi!

75352 Emperor’s Throne Room recreates the epic showdown between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as Emperor Palpatine watches on, and 75353 Endor Speeder Chase brings to life the exhilarating speeder bike chase sequence on Endor.

Both sets will be available for pre-order on LEGO.com from 7 April 2023, ahead of a 1 May 2023 release date.

75352 Emperor’s Throne Room – 807 pieces

Minifigures: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine

US$99.99 / AU$159.99 / £89.99 / €99.99 / CAD$129.99

I really like this diorama as this was really THE climax of original trilogy with the showdown between Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker as Palpatine watches on.

The backdrop construction makes for an incredible display piece, and it also includes a brand new hairpiece for Luke Skywalker.

It’s a little on the pricey side, but I’ll be taking a closer look at this set soon, so keep an eye out for my review!

75353 Endor Speeder Chase – 608 pieces

Minifigures: Scout Trooper, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa in Endor fatigues

US$79.99 / AU$159.99 / £69.99 / €79.99 / CAD$99.99

For Endor fans, we have the epic Speeder Bike chase translated into a compact diorama format. It’s quite plain, and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about the straight pillar-like trees, but do appreciate the dense foliage on the ground, complete with new fern pieces.

The highlights here are Luke and Leia in their Endor fatigues, so will be very appealing for LEGO Minifigure collectors.

75352 Emperor’s Throne Room and 75353 Endor Speeder Chase will be available to pre-order on LEGO.com on 7 April 2023, ahead of a 1 May 2023 release date!

What do you think of these two dioramas? Will you be adding them to your May the 4th shopping list?

It goes without saying these days that Lego SW is overpriced, but man these are really pushing it. I usually sit back and let the others do their complaining, but the Endor diorama in particular is the first set that has incensed me so much that I need to vent my feelings. It’s absurd. And as has been pointed out elsewhere, the minifigures are not even close to the actual outfits from the movie, and could have been easily addressed. Luke’s missing a lot of black. It just doesn’t make sense, when clearly some thought has gone into the production of it – why not just go the extra mile and actually make it accurate?

Totally agree – Lego as a company is taking the “adult collector” side of things way too far… But to be fair, I wouldn’t buy this set even for $100, the trees are very underwhelming.

Of course if people with deep pockets keep paying these outrageous prices, nothing will change. Let’s hope for deep discounts at secondary retailers!

You’re right on the money there. At full price, these are definitely incredibly overpriced, especially Endor with the comically rigid and plain trees.

Look out for my review and and I’ll do a proper side by side comparison
