LEGO Seinfeld (21328) officially revealed!

UPDATE ( 21/7): The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld set is now available on LEGO.com for LEGO VIP members, ahead of a general release on 1 August 2021!

So what’s the deal with LEGO for Adults? It’s little toys, made for kids but adults go nuts for them. One time, I saw a bunch of adults lining up for blocks!

Fans of the the classic 90s sitcom and standup comedian legend Jerry Seinfeld are in for a treat with the official reveal of the LEGO 21328 Seinfeld, released as part of the LEGO Ideas theme!

Today’s reveal date, the 5th of July also marks the anniversary of the first episode of the iconic comedy show. The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld set’s release date will be on 21 July 2021 for LEGO VIP members, ahead of a general release date of 1 August 2021.

This 1,326-piece set which includes LEGO minifigure versions of Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, Elaine Benes and Newman will retail for US$79.99 / AU$129.99 / £69.99 and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO store.

The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld set was designed by Brent Waller, a name you might remember as the fan-designer of the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1, and features Jerry Seinfeld’a apartment in all its glory.

Brent is quoted as saying “I loved Seinfeld in the 90s and recently re-watched them all.  I thought it was a travesty that a LEGO Seinfeld set didn’t exist so I made an effort to resolve that and make the best rendition of Jerry’s Apartment and the gang that I could.  The biggest challenge was trying to cram as much detail from the show into the kitchen, all the cupboards, items in the cupboard and on the bench-tops.  But I am very proud of how it turned out.”

Some of the instantly recognisable features include: the kitchen with buildable counter, fridge, microwave, oven and more; living room with a sofa; tables; an office; a buildable stage for stand-up comedian Jerry and a Festivus pole, collectively inspiring memories of comical moments from the show’s 180 episodes!

The set’s television studio set design keeps the same consistency as the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Central Perk set, Big Bang Theory (long retired), and the recently released F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Apartments set, and is now the 4th TV sitcom set – LEGO are clearly starting a theme here.

The model measures 32cm wide, 18 cm deep and 13cm tall.

The minifigures are going to be the biggest drawcard with Jerry Seinfeld (with an excellent new mullet hairpiece), Kramer who utilises the new “Matthew Ashton pompadour hair”, George Costanza with his iconic red parka, Elaine Benes and Newman.

The minifigures are rendered well enough, and hardcore Seinfeld fans are going to be delighted.

There are some really cool Easter eggs and references hidden throughout Jerry’s apartment, such as stickers/magnets on the fridge which depict Superman (whom the real Jerry Seinfeld is a massive fan of), a red Porsche (the real Seinfeld is a massive car nut), and the words Yada, in reference to Yada, yada yada.

A cool little Easter Egg is also a portrait of Larry David, the series co-creator!

True to Jerry’s stand-up comedian roots, the set also comes with a small stage with a red-brick background for Seinfeld to perform his routine.

Seinfeld fans are going to be delighted by this set, as will TV and pop culture junkies, especially connoisseurs of late 90s television as Seinfeld was such a massive influence on TV and comedy.

Personally, I’m not a big Seinfeld fans, so I can’t see myself buying or enjoying this set, but I suspect that many Seinfeld fans are going to eagerly pick this set up, especially come close to the Christmas holiday season.

The LEGO Seinfeld set releases on 21 July 2021 for LEGO VIPs, and will retail for US$79.99 / AU$129.99 / £69.99 and will be available from LEGO.com or your local LEGO store.

  2. RAMONA MAIDA says:

BIG BIG Seinfeld fan family, wow couldn’t believe the words when I saw the post!! Very attractive, characters look awesome, apartment looks wonderful. The extra Stage piece is just the right thing to do (from the company aspect) it was just right to add that piece in the set!! The Easter eggs are a special touch, love them. I always liked the cereal collection. Magnificent, amazing, fabulous, Will buy this set ASAP. Hope to see many more tv show sets. M*A*S*H, Frasier, The office, Roseanne, Etc…

As always great news Thank you

  3. Peter G. says:

Not going to lie, I’m disappointed they couldn’t get a bicycle hanging on the wall, but I understand the limitations they had to work with.

  4. Adele says:

    Definitely!

  5. Josh says:

Absolutely love this. I’m a big fan of Seinfeld so I’ve been looking forward for this for a long time, and it delivered. Loved the references I’ve picked up (I’ve avoided looking at the list of them all to be disposed when I build it).

On a completely unrelated (though hopefully related) sidenote, has there been any more talk about when Australia is getting the Adidas Superstar GWP set? If that could just happen to be held off until the 21st now that would be amazingly ideal.

    • Josh says:

*to be surprised when I build it, even.

    • Adele says:

I haven’t bought the Adidas set yet because I was waiting for the smaller set…but im also gonna get the Seinfeld set. So hopefully they release the mini shoe this month, I don’t want to miss out on anything.

      “Personally I’m not a big Seinfeld fan…”
I got a lotta problems with you people! And now, you’re all gonna hear about ’em!

  6. Paul Castle says:

I’ve never watched an episode of Seinfeld, but it’s the sort of thing that I usually enjoy. I might rectify that before this set gets deleted (the whole series is pretty cheap on DVD compared to this set) as I’ve got the first sitcom sets and plan on the third as soon as there’s a GWP that appeals.

Btw, if you put a list of all your affiliate links on one page it might be easier to pop back and use them. I don’t tend to pre-order stuff, and it’s usually months down the line when I do place an order, and your links are long forgotten by then. If they’re linked from your top bar, I’ll have no excuse not to use them.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Good reminder about Big Bang Theory being the first set in the sitcom theme. I had to use my own pieces to cover the floor studs with tiles and I’m glad I don’t have to do the same for this set.
