LEGO Spice Girls Tribute Brickheadz set revealed!

February 10, 2022 By Jay 9 Comments

I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want – an official LEGO Spice Girls set!

Yes, that is totally happening because thanks to the LEGO Instructions site, we have our very first look at 40548 Spice Girls Tribute, which sees the legendary cultural icons that are the Spice Girls get the Brickheadz treatment.

Update: These have now officially been revealed online, and have a release date of 1 March 2022 on LEGO.com!

See below for regional pricing and links:

  • 40548 Spice Head Tribute [US] – US$49.99
  • 40548 Spice Head Tribute [AUS] – AU$79.99
  • 40548 Spice Head Tribute [UK] – £44.99
  • 40548 Spice Head Tribute [EU] – €49.99
  • 40548 Spice Head Tribute [CA] – CAD$64.99

There aren’t any release dates yet, but as these instructions are loaded up, I would expect a March 2022 release as we’re almost mid-way through February.

I can’t express how good these look – you get a whopping FIVE Brickheadz in a set with Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham getting the Brickheadz treatment.

This set has LEGO VP of Design Matthew Ashton’s (who gave us 10291 Queer Eye The Fab 5 Loft and 40516 Everyone is Awesome) fingerprints all over it.

Update: The set was designed by Dan Squirrell

LEGO Brickheadz are having a bit of a renaissance in 2022, and from the tiny photo, these look terrific, and while some AFOLs might turn up their noses against the Spice Girls, I think there will be plenty more people who grew up bopping to the Spice Girls music that will be very excited about these sets.

This is likely also the first of many more pop culture sets, following LEGO’s partnership with Universal (the Spice Girls are signed under Universal Media Group), and I can absolutely see maybe minifigures, or more Brickheadz of other Pop/Music stars.

The Elvis Presley Art set also makes a lot more sense in this context.

Huge thanks to The Brick Fan for the tip off!

What do you think about the LEGO Spice Girls set? Will you be getting them, and would you like to see more pop culture music Brickheadz/sets?

Apoplexy at our place. Spice Girls mad, the lot of them. I’m going to need half a dozen sets day one ;).

The likenesses are awesome. Looks like this year is going to rival the last for amazing sets.

Happy International @LEGO Day! The 28th of Januar Happy International @LEGO Day!

The 28th of January commemorates the date where the first patent for the iconic LEGO brick was filed with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office in Denmark by then-owner Godtfred Kirk Christiansen.

Here's a photo of the patent which is on display in the history section of the @legohouse, which I got to see last year when I visited Billund!

There's tons of incredible historical artifacts, and I've also shared some other displays that commemorated this part of LEGO's history!

My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 C My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 Clone Commander Cody is up, and here's a closer look at some of the details.

They both will be released on 1 March 2023, and will retail for US$69.99 / AU$99.99 / £59.99 and can be pre-ordered now.

I think both helmets are excellent additions to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Clone Trooper helmets translate incredibly well, and there are some masterful sculpting techniques and great use of negative space to get the look just right.

I have to say that I much prefer Commander Cody out of the two, because of the 212th's orange markings, and cool features like the visor and fin. Captain Rex, while having some cutting-edge building techniques have some really poorly colour-match stickers which distract from the otherwise great build.

Will you be planning on picking any of these up?

Special thanks to @lego for sending these early review sets over!
