LEGO Super Mario VIP Rewards and My Nintendo Rewards now available!

August 24, 2021 By Jay 6 Comments

LEGO and Nintendo are ramping up their cross-promotion activity for the August wave of LEGO Super Mario sets (and who knows what else), with an exclusive new Mario and Luigi keychains available on both of their Members Rewards/VIP programs.

Here’s a brief guide to what’s available, and how to redeem these rewards

LEGO Super Mario VIP Rewards

In the LEGO VIP section, you can redeem a silver LEGO Luigi Keychain for 500 VIP points (one per customer). I’m not sure if this was just me, but this reward showed up in the “Home” section of VIP, and not the Rewards Centre, so check there if it isn’t showing up for you.

You can also redeem (for free!) 200 My Nintendo Platinum Points, which is handy if you already have a My Nintendo account. For those that are unaware, My Nintendo is Nintendo’s equivalent of LEGO’s VIP Program. But cooler, and better run.

LEGO Super Mario My Nintendo Rewards

On the My Nintendo Store, you can redeem a silver LEGO Super Mario keychain for 400 platinum points to complete the duo.

To obtain Platinum Points, there are a number of things you can do to earn points such as installing and connecting your My Nintendo account to mobile games, and completing other tasks. The VIP reward for 200 Platinum Points will come in handy here.

In addition to that, there’s a sweepstake that you can join to win the following prize pack, which feature special golden variants of the keychain that you can enter for 10 platinum points.

5 winners will receive a prize package that includes:

  • A set of special, gold-coloured LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ keychains
  • 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course
  • 71387 Adventures with Luigi Starter Course
  • 71391 Bowser’s Airship Expansion Set

In addition to those rewards, you can also redeem 250 LEGO VIP Points through My Nintendo for free, and some other random digital downloads like wallpapers.

Special thanks to Vooks for the heads up on this!

Just done the free points thing on both sites, which is a pretty cool collaboration. I’d used most of my Lego points on a recent order but now have enough for a Luigi keyring, so being a sucker for such things I shall order one ;). Thanks for the heads up :).

Fantastic, yeah this was a really greatly executed cross-promotion. Can’t wait to receive my keychain!

I don’t think the Luigi keychain is available in Canada yet, at least I hope I haven’t missed it somehow.

Thanks so, so much for the heads up on this. I’m honestly very surprised LEGO would allow you to redeem 250 VIP Points through My Nintendo for free, it certainly helps people who may be just below a certain threshold to redeem them and I wonder if they can be redeemed more than once. Either way it’s nice to see the collaboration between these two giants.

You’re welcome! Yeah, it was a nice surprise, and certainly helps both LEGO and Nintendo fans who don’t have existing points to draw on to redeem the freebies.
