Just in time for the Melbourne Grand Prix this weekend, LEGO Australia and McLaren Racing have unveiled an awesome installation – a life-sized replica of the LEGO 42141 Technic McLaren Formula 1 Race Car.
The set has been wildly popular, and has been sold out since launch, although you can back-order it on the Australian LEGO.com shop, for delivery in May 2022.
It’s situated at Albert Park, so if you’re headed to the F1, go ahead and check it out. You can find it at the Versor Tech Hub’ (near gate 10).
The model weighs in 288,315 pieces, and took over 1893 hours to construct. It was assembled by Australian LEGO Certified Professional Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught.
The installation is significant, as it marks McLaren’s Daniel Riccardo returning to race on home soil.
It’s really neat, so enjoy the photos from the installation, courtesy of LEGO Australia
