60347 Supermarket – €59.99 – 404 pieces

I’m really excited for the Supermarket – as it’s about damn time that LEGO City have a fresh food store to do their groceries in.

There’s also a new orange supermarket trolley, plenty of those new corn pieces, and the return of Series 20’s Pea Costume Girl!

Most importantly, LEGO have also depicted a minifigure with a prosthetic leg! I could not love this set more!

Last but certainly not least, the little girl is also wearing a hoodie with the colours of the Transgender flag, another huge win for representation and diversity.

I just checked the LEGO website and the stunt bikes, grocery store, freight train, and several others are listed as August 1 releases. Maybe it’s just for the US? I’m bummed I’ll have to wait longer for them, but my wallet isn’t mad about it.

  2. Juan says:

  3. Paul Castle says:

As a forklift driver myself, I am delighted to see a forklift in the Supermarket set!

  4. Reader says:

Supermarket looks like a great mix of small bits and vehicles to really expand things. But at ~AU$90, that’s going to be expensive. Makes me wonder if it’d better to get the good bits from Pick a Brick instead of buying the set. Another common complaint I’ve seen is no option to exclude the road plates.

    • Un-Ha-Pea says:

Yeah, the premium pricing of these two sets is going to make Main Square and the Tuning Workshop seem like bargains !

I like the look of the train though.

  5. Andrew Gardiner says:

I can’t say I like the look of the Passenger Train much. The only obvious upgrade over the previous train is that the carriages have doors this time.

    • Andrew says:

I agree, it doesn’t differ much from the previous couple. What we really needed was a City Heritage Railway with a steam loco…

      • Tony Adams says:

Modern trains are good. Its good we do not get ugly old polluting outdated steam trains!

        • Lego hasn’t released a steam engine in years. It’s a real shame they haven’t. The old steam engine sets were highly popular and are still sought after on the secondary market. Your comment literally makes no sense.

      • CARMEN COLLINS says:

We already got the steam train a only 4 years ago from Harry Potter.
