New LEGO 40585 World of Wonders gift with purchase spotted on LEGO.com

An upcoming LEGO gift with purchase (GWP) has surfaced on LEGO.com – 40585 World of Wonders, which appears to be a small 382-piece micro-scale Architecture set based on some of the new Seven Wonders of the World.

Update: 40585 World of Wonders is available as a VIP Reward for 2700 points! The Birthday Diorama is also available in the Rewards Center too

Four of these ancient landmarks are depicted in microscale – with tiny versions of The Parthenon, The Great Wall of China, Petra’s Al-Khazneh, and the Taj Mahal, along with unfortunate stickered tiles with their names on it.

These are the photos of the actual Seven Wonders for reference.

LEGO has made sets based on two of these four depicted in World of Wonders, with 2018’s Architecture Great Wall of China, and many iterations of the Taj Mahal, most recently, 21056 Taj Mahal which is still available for purchase.

The design also seems to borrow heavily from 40563 Tribute to the LEGO House which also featured a similar multi-micro scale format.

As LEGO hasn’t depicted both Al-Khazneh and the Parthenon as LEGO sets, I’d love to see them get the LEGO Architecture treatment one day, following in the footsteps of last year’s 21058 Great Pyramid of Giza.

As only one image is available, we won’t know when 40585 World of Wonders will be made available, or what the purchase threshold will be to qualify for this gift with purchase.

But looking at the format, and comparing this to recent GWPs like Houses of the World 1, I expect this one to a pricey GWP to redeem. If a set like this appeals to you, and if you have a big purchase in the pipeline (like 21338 A-Frame Cabin), it might be worth holding off until more information arises about 40585 World of Wonders.

Alternatively, as there doesn’t seem to be that many specialised elements in the set, you should also be able to easily replicate and re-create this set when instructions become available!

What do you think of 40585 World of Wonders?
