New VIP Rewards coming – Classic Space and Octan vintage caps!

April 7, 2022 By Jay 11 Comments

LEGO have just announced three new upcoming VIP rewards, celebrating the heritage of LEGO brand – these Vintage/Retro Caps will be available

These new LEGO VIP caps will be released on Tuesday, 12 April 2022 at 10am GMT and will be available globally except Mexico. You’ll be able to redeem them in the LEGO VIP Rewards Centre

There are 2 adult caps (Classic Space and Octan), and one kids version with a minifigure head on it.

The adult caps will cost 2,400 VIP points, and the kids cap will be 1,600 VIP points as well. There will be a limit of 1 of each adult cap per customer, and 2 for the kids cap.

It goes without saying, but the Classic Space cap is going the most popular one, and I will absolutely be there on my computer to redeem it immediately!

The other one is equally cool, with the LEGO Octan logo printed on the front.

Both caps are made of 100% cotton and feature an adjustable strap, and in retro style, come pre-distressed and have a ‘worn vintage’ look and feel to them.

Here’s the kids version with the minifigure face.

Very excited for this and can’t wait to put my LEGO VIP points to good use! Look out for these on LEGO.com VIP Centre on Tuesday, 12 April 2022 at 10am GMT .

What do you think of these Vintage Caps and will you be redeeming your VIP points for them?

Just checking, do I also need to make a purchase on the same day in order to redeem a cap? It’s been awhile since I made a VIP redemption.

Nope, at least for Australia. You get sent a code which you need to add to an order to redeem, but you have 60 days to do this.

Like others have said, the code will be valid for 60 days, so you’ll have plenty of time to make an order

Do the adult caps come pre-frazzled or is it just the advertisement photography?

They come pre-frazzled for that Vintage look

There is nothing “vintage” about pre-damaged clothing. If you like that look, just buy second-hand for almost nothing.

My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 C My review of the new 75349 Captain Rex and 75350 Clone Commander Cody is up, and here's a closer look at some of the details.

They both will be released on 1 March 2023, and will retail for US$69.99 / AU$99.99 / £59.99 and can be pre-ordered now.

I think both helmets are excellent additions to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Clone Trooper helmets translate incredibly well, and there are some masterful sculpting techniques and great use of negative space to get the look just right.

I have to say that I much prefer Commander Cody out of the two, because of the 212th's orange markings, and cool features like the visor and fin. Captain Rex, while having some cutting-edge building techniques have some really poorly colour-match stickers which distract from the otherwise great build.

Will you be planning on picking any of these up?

Special thanks to @lego for sending these early review sets over!
