In one of the more surprising reveals of 2019, LEGO has officially unveiled its newest Creator Expert set – 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy.
The set faithfully re-creates the 2019 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in stunning fashion.

After conquering the automotive world with amazing renditions of iconic vehicles such as the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Mustang, it makes total sense for LEGO to expand its Creator Expert vehicle series to include two-wheeled favourites.
Now this isn’t the first time that LEGO has taken on motorcycles – in 2017, LEGO took on the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure Bike, albeit in Technic-form.
The completed model measures over 20cm (7”) high, 18cm (7”) wide and 33cm (12”) long, making it a decent-sized model for display.
One of the most impressive things about the LEGO Harley-Davidson is just how close the LEGO designers managed to make it look to the real thing.
Fans can expect realistic details such as solid-disc Lakester wheels with beefy tires to its teardrop fuel tank with printed logos and inbuilt speedometer.
It also includes a Milwaukee-Eight engine with moving pistons, dual exhaust pipes, handlebar steering, moveable gearshift pedal and brake levers, kickstand and a sturdy display stand.
I think it’s pretty cool that the pistons actually move, as demonstrated by this diagram above.
Despite its relatively low piece count, the Harley doesn’t lack for details, and the crazy level of mechanical detail achieved by the LEGO designers is just stunning to behold.
Not only will this appeal to hardcore bikers, but LEGO are also hopeful in closing down the hipster, man-bun with heavy tattoos demographic, judging from this photo.
So, I have close to zero affinity and appreciation of motorcycles. The closest trait I possess to a biker is that I own a leather jacket, and my personal choice of two-wheeled vehicle is my trust electric scooter.
Despite that, this is a very easy LEGO set to love and I can easily see this being incorporated into my LEGO Creator Expert vehicle collection.
I also feel like the price-point is pretty accessible for a set of this calibre – it’s not too expensive that it feels like you have to save up ages for it, and I predict it’ll be a pretty easy impulse purchase for most adult LEGO fans.
Also, yay for printed elements. It seems like LEGO is finally starting to realise that we want more printed elements in these premium sets.
The LEGO Harley-Davidson Fat Boy releases on LEGO.com and at your local LEGO Brand Retail Store on 17 July 2019 for LEGO VIP members, and 1 August 2019 for everyone else.
